Looking for people to try out my newly designed drop in fan shroud for the P500A.
The psu takes in it's clean air from the under the case so air directed by this bottom fan is mostly wasted. This design makes the bottom fan more efficient and should push more air towards the GPU area.
If anyone is interested in trying out this shroud and live in the Lower US States please comment below. I'm not looking to sell or profit off of these so I will send them out free of charge. This design will soon be my new Thingi on Thingiverse and as usual is free to download and print if you own a 3d printer...

My new build is using a P500a, that is a pretty cool custom shroud that you made. I am doing a custom loop and don't have a 3D printer, otherwise I would definitely try this out. Thanks for sharing!

The fan in the basement is usually there to provide some airflow to any drives you may have in the drive cage, not really a good idea to cut it off if you do have any drives down there.

Appreciate the guess work . I have 2- 4tb drives down there now. There is zero temp differences with the shroud installed vs not. The Hard drives cages airflow from the fans are blocked by metal on all sides... the small holes on the cages are not big enough to make a temp difference of any airflow that gets to them. However , with the shroud there is a noticeable temp decrease on gpu's . I've (and my testers)done extensive temp testing doing gpu burn in tests with a 1080 ti , 3080 , 3080 ti , 3090... all showed a drop of atleast 3-5 deg. It's a small amount but atleast no airflow is wasted now.

My friend has a 3D printer and I think the ports on my front-mounted radiator will be high enough to clear the shroud, so I might actually try this. I'll post an update if I do, thanks again. The only drives in my build will be M.2, so I don't need any extra airflow at the bottom of the case.

Awesome! Also , Because of the way the bottom hard drive cages are designed... No air from the fan circulates around the hard drives enough to make a measurable difference anyways.. But cool ! I have some other p500 a mods on my thingiverse page if you want to check them out... Custom itx plate covers , phanteks gpu support bracket.. https://www.thingiverse.com/glenn37216/designs

I appreciated the condescending reply but it's not guesswork. That's why the engineers of the case have the fans reach that low is to provide some air to the dives down there. And you're claiming 3-5C improvement from your shroud? LOL ok, not only is that ridiculous and stupid but it's also not possible from merely directing some more very low pressure air into the main opening. 5C is about the temperature differential from removing an entire side panel of a case, no way is your magic shroud providing that much more fresh air unless you're running that bottom fan at 10,000RPM.

Look I get it, you want attention for your design that's all fine and well but your claim of 3-5C belongs on an episode of "$#it manufacturers say"  lol

IS this all you do ? Wonder around this forum crapping on peoples threads you know nothing about ? Do you even own this case? Nope. Even Phanteks has responded to my design on facebook and has admitted that the hard drive cages should have been designed differently and located to the top of the case instead of the bottom. In fact .. they have listed a thinner cage that can be 3d printed just to help eliviate this airflow problem. 3-5 deg with the side panel removed? NOT WITH THIS CASE. I  You loose static pressure  of the fans with the side panel off... which is why my bench marks temps are always better with both of my case panels on. IT'S HILIARIOUS  that you don't even know about this mod. People ON OVERCLOCK.NET/HARDFORUMS have been posting gpu temp improvements since 2018 in other cases besides the p500 a that have this same design concept. Thats how I came up with my design IDEA. Quit crapping on threads you dont know jack Sh!t about. Mods should toss you out to the curb... troll.

LOL sorry kiddo, you believe whatever stupid fantasy you want to believe. You nor anyone else is actually getting a 5C difference form this magic shroud. Sorry I pissed on your parade but I like to live in the real world, where the laws of thermodynamics actually apply. Have fun

Yeah I agree. Its magic indeed. It lowers idle temps especially on gpus that have fan profiles that dont kick in until around 60c.
Theres a reason why more and more cases have fans mounted to the psu shroud underneath the gpu. ..Like others have proven on overclocke.net any air pushed toward a gpu with 0 idle fans does lower the gpu temps a few degrees.

.Your name says it all because its whats your full of.
    -Crap.
Post again and Ill report you for trolling.

Fellas, let's keep it civil. Regardless of how effective the shroud is at actually reducing idle GPU temps, he was kind enough to share it for anyone interested. Not like he is trying to sell it or anything. Only harm done if it doesn't reduce temps is some wasted filament.

Yes let's keep everything civil. The fact is that it is free design to all. It will be the decision of the person(s) using it to decide if it is right or wrong for them.

Interesting idea, though I wouldn't want to try it with any hard drives in the basement.

Here you go if you want to try it.

Looking for people to try out my newly designed drop in fan shroud for the P500A.

Hey OP, any chance you are still offering these? I'd been considering something like this lately, but I don't have a 3D printer so this is a lot cleaner than anything I could come up with.
