Just wondering why a lot of other companies like Asus, Asrock, Gigabyte etc have had Z590 boards out for awhile now, and EVGA is so late in releasing theirs?? I had a really bad experience many years ago with a RMA and an Asus motherboard and since that time, never purchased anything but EVGA mobo’s and GPU’s just for the excellent service they provide. But now that I finally got a EVGA 3080ti (and found out the meaning of CPU Bottleneck) I’m looking to upgrade my CPU and Mobo with a Z590 board and see that there is going to be a long wait for this motherboard. I guess I’m just going to get a EVGA Z490 Dark for now. That paired with a i9 10850K and at least I can fully take advantage of my shiny new 3080ti.

EVGA is quite slow but generally has good attention to detail for their products. For Z590 it's up to you whether you want to wait since for the first time, there is a good selection of OC focused 2 DIMM boards from competitors. But if you do happen to wait, the Z590 Dark should be really good.

I'm about to buy an Asus ROG Maximus XIII Apex because the Z590 Dark was announced in January and still hasn't been released. At least Asus designed, announced, made, and released an overclocking board within 7 months of the press release.

EVGA may be 'late', but you'll get a quality board with actual customer service to back it up.
With Asus, you get what you get, and good luck getting support for it.

TOTALLY agree with you there!! I’m not even going to get into the experience I had that was so bad, that I swore to myself to never, EVER buy an Asus product again. I know they have some great motherboards, but is something break, I need a company willing to help, and not take a month or two getting me a replacement. Heck, just look on Newegg at reviews and you will see some pretty ticked off people at Asus. Asus no longer cares about customer support period. I’m just going to Buy a EVGA Z490 for now and possibly upgrade to the 590 later. I will at least have piece of mind knowing EVGA will have my back if needed and that to me is PRICELESS.

EVGA is late because they spend a LOT more time testing different variations of the board and tweaking everything to operate at the specification they need it to run at to perform at its best.
EVGA is also a MUCH smaller company than the other manufacturers, so it takes them longer to get all of the testing complete, versus the other major companies that will fire off their boards and then later address issues.
Think back to x299 release, and how long the x299 Dark took to release, and then the heat issues from the VRM, where ASUS had shotgunned out the rampage Vi extreme and apex with bog standard heat sinks that needed more cooling. But hey, they got to the market faster so who cares about the issues.
EVGA has been very focused on making their boards better with every single generation, and the z590 boards featured a MAJOR change that not one single other manufacturer has done. Do you know what they changed?

evga is late because they are consumed with a graphics card shortage but they will get it done. patience grasshopper!

The Asus ROG Maximus XIII Apex also has 4 slot spacing to use 3090s in SLI/NVLink. RogueMaster

I am also stuck waiting for the Z590 Dark to come out. This last week my girlfriend got her Z590 FTW system up and running and if the Dark is just that good I will be very happy.

In addition to the Asus 590 chipset board having 4 slot spacing, I also forgot to mention that the 3 slot bridge for the 3090 and Ampere cards is only $80 through Elmor. EDIT: Its $80 for the 3 slot bridge from Elmor without the all gloss black cover. If you want the all gloss black Nvidia cover on the 3 slot bridge its still $200 or more.

I've never had an issue with Asus RMA/Support. They always resolved my issues. They are just slower than EVGA when it comes to RMAs because they don't offer cross shipping.
Sadly, I've never had a situation where they attempted to do anything at all to correct an issue. They even went as far as to tell me that the reason their board was defective was because I must have done something wrong during the build. The only issue I had with that board is that it would refuse to post with 4 sticks of RAM in it. I could use any combination of the four in a single pair, and it would boot fine. As soon as all four sticks were in the board, it would lock up. Somehow, based on just that description alone, it was determined by 'support' that it was my fault, and they refused to discuss it further, much less allow an RMA. With one of their other products I had an issue with, the reply to my query was that 'The laptop you inquired about will be back in stock soon'. I was trying to get their Aura software to work properly with their Aura Terminal. I never did get an answer from Asus, I had to ask on Reddit to get the issue resolved. I had a couple of other issues that went the same way. I've sworn off anything Asus related. The only product I've ever purchased with their name on it that worked without issue was a monitor. Never again. They've burned their bridges.
