There are many bottlenecks depending on the game.  You'll have CPU, GPU, and Engine.  sometimes your CPU and GPU will run into the limits of the game's engine it's running on and the engine just cannot create more frames.  But in this case, for the game you are wanting to play, I don't think it will be much of a problem at 2k.

I wonder if that's what I'm experiencing.  I have a 1070 and a 3900xt.  during game play my screen goes black for a moment.  which is terrible because the game is still going even though I can't see it.

LoL .. Ikr.   I was hoping for the 3070ti.   Maybe I'll be lucky and snag one.   I was going for the 3070.  3080 is just a bit out of price range.  Just spent a ton of $$$ on some remodeling.

You should expect your system to do well with CPU intensive tasks and worse with GPU intensive tasks

why do bad at GPU intensive tasks?  is that with a 1070 or a 3070/3070ti?   Never figured that Need for Speed games would be gpu intense.  Though more like battle games would (star wars, halo, battlefield).

I have a similar setup to yours
1070ti with 3900x and can't complain on 1080p

I don't have any issues on the 1080, just that when I play NFS that my screen blacks out during game play.  Can't find reason for it.  Otherwise everything is fine.  It's not a bad card.

Well, I'm running 1050 with 7 3700x. If you play any triple-A titles bottleneck is pretty bad. For competitive games, I get about 200+ fps. So overall yes you bottlenecking but still can play some games with high fps.

that might be the issue.  gpu runs at 100% and I'm sure NFS games are triple-A titles.  Wonder how to get rid of bottlenecking.  Get an AMD gpu or will the 3070 help.

I found this.  https://pc-builds.com/calculator/    It's a bottleneck calculator.  According to it, my 1070 is bottlenecking.  So when I compared it to a 3070, it said that it will work with my upgraded Ryzen 9 3900xt build.

Let's be honest, it's better to be GPU limited compared to CPU limited. I'm still on a GTX 1060 due to shortage which bottlenecks even my Ryzen 3600.Once stock settles, you and I can easily pop a new GPU, much easier compared to a new CPU/MOBO upgrade. And I'd upgrade to at least an RTX 3060TI in your case. 1080 is still a potent card, despite much slower than newer ones.

that's so right.  I had just upgraded my computer 5 yrs ago from a AMD Phenom to Intel i7-4790k.  I had to update it again to the Ryzen 9 (I know I could've gone with a 5 or 7) because the 4790 wouldn't play  NFS games and it would run 100% on video editing.  The 1070 is okay for right now til i get either a 3070 or 3070ti.

You should aim for a GPU bottleneck so it's fine just wait for better cards.

there's some websites that can tell you a bottleneck so you can use those. I think if you want a good card, at least go for a 2080ti.

Is 10875h + 2070 super mobile good enough for 4k rendering and scrubbing?

You'd probably do well with a used 2000-series card, like a 2060 Super.  Those will be easier to find than a 3000-series right now.

I would imagine there is bottlenecking but with limited gpu availability nowadays you dont really have much a choice

It is time to get a RTX 3070!, I think the 3070Ti doesnt worth the extra money.

this isn't perfect- but it can give you a close idea .

 Here's what it says ....

Average bottleneck percentage: 13.93% (GPU bottleneck)
*This result is based on average CPU and GPU usage from different programs and games. It changes based on operating system, background processes activity and targeted applications. This result is not universal and changes based on differences in hardware and software enviroments. Please do not use this calculator primary as decision maker than as helping tool to understand performance correlations between different components.

Your graphic card is too weak for this processor on 1080p resolution
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (Clock speed at 100%) with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Clock speed at 100%) x1 will produce 13.93% of GPU bottleneck on 1080p resolution. Everything over 10% is considered as bottleneck.

We recommend you to replace NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

Thanks for sharing that link! I've been looking for a tool like that to help put my build together (if I ever get a GPU).
