I've been building custom water cooled systems since 2006, so I know what it cost to build one. I have had a member pm me about the cost to do a custom loop and gave him my input.

Care to share what you think the initial cost for a custom RTX 3080 Ti HC water cooling loop would be?

$300 from new pump/reservoir, fittings, Rad, tubing including distilled water😁

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

    That's pretty cheap.

I've been doing it for over ten years and my costs keep going up, but that is because of me.  The cheapest would be soft tubing using barb fittings.  I never recommend finding the cheapest over quality components for water cooling.  A lot of quality components go on sale periodical, so if they catch a sale, it will help.

Without pricing it out by piece, I would make a guess of @$500-600.  My current build was a lot more than that and so is my wife's build that is waiting for a GPU.

This post will self destruct before my wife, the CFO of the home, sees it.

I've been water cooling since 2004 and every time I rebuild it a more to to do. This time I made my  build to show setup which a lot of detail fitting, custom fitting for water lines, tubing different wall thickness which is more money. but I'm getting in extreme building not cheap!!!

You guys have recommendations for custom loop parts/kits?  I'm looking to get into building custom loops so I'm curious what you all consider quality.

Thats a kit price for the GPU only🙁

I can only tell you what I've been using for some time and in my present build.  I'm using hard line tubing, Heatkiller IV CPU block, Bitspower fittings, Hardware Labs radiators, Noctua fans, Singularity reservoir combo, Swiftech D5 pump, and various fan blocks and sensors.  My wife's build, still needs GPU, is much the same except it has a distro-plate and a DDC pump from Bitspower.

Other brands to look at are Corsair, EK, Aquatuning, Alphacool, Watercool, and so forth.  If you look at PPCS's website you'll see that there are various brands at different price points.  We've come a long way over the past decade, but you still have to do your homework.  There is a ton of resources available to you.

    Hope this helps a little.

Depends.  Doing hard or soft tubing?
With soft tubing, it's going to be cheaper, since you can route the tubing more freely.
With hard tubing, you're going to need more fittings.

For a 360mm rad unit, GPU waterblock, CPU waterblock, pump-res combo, and fittings, you're looking about $420USD with tubing.
Minus $110 out if you already are buying a GPU with a pre-installed waterblock.  And you're looking at about $310.

If you're going hard tubing, unless you're bending (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR A NEWB WATER COOLING GUY), you'll need fittings every time the hard tube needs to take a turn.

Not going to get into pricing for hard tubing.  Because there's so much variability between various plastic piping, glass and even copper.

Before emergency bills ate into my new system budget, I was looking at a hard-line copper setup that was, conservatively, in the $700 range.

Also, Alphacool DOES make an "expandable" line of AIOs.  You start with what looks like a semi-standard CPU AIO unit (Eisbaer).
But it has a quick disconnect fitting on one tube.  From there, with additional lines, you can daisy-chain in additional components.  Then you simply add fluid to the CPU waterblock-reservoir unit.  You can even tie in additional radiators, since the thing is built from more or less stock parts.

You can find them on the Alphacool site or Aquatuning.

Just queued up for a Hydro cooler and am looking at Thermaltake.  Looks like at lest $300 for a soft tubing setup.  I'm fine paying extra if I can get a GPU sooner and it means my premium won't be going to a scalper.

Mine will be a home theater gaming PC, so no side panel window.  I don't need flashy RGB, just something reliable that is quiet as possible.  I already have an AIO for the CPU, but it hasn't arrived yet.  Perhaps I should return it and buy a kit rather than piecing together a kit without a CPU block...

Costs: easy to spend $1000 - $1800  too much depends on what they want, easy to spend more
    GPU block
    CPU block
    pump
    pump top
    pump mount
    reservoir & mount
    Radiator(s)
    drain valve ~$20
    fans @ $22 - $35 each
    fan hubs @ ~$35
per fitting x number of fittings needed as an estimate ~$4 - $8 ea
    tubing
cutter - if they do not have a good way to cut tube
    Dry Leak testing system  $40 - $45
3 gallons of distilled water for final flush $3

    proper premixed coolant ... $17 - $20 / 1000 mL for EK-cryoFuel clear

First time building a custom water loop was this year. In my experience, should've had a more clear vision of what i wanted. Was intimidated by bending the tubes my self so i opted for Ek 90's. Bought those didn't like the way it looked, really cause my runs were long and it looked to sag at the 90's. Saw Bitspower had some pre-bent 90's. Bought some lol. Yea, their not perfect 90 bend more like 100(Out of a pack of 4 maybe 1 was close to being true to the degree the rest were out BADLY).. Total Cost: TOO MUCH! Now that i have some hands on knowledge... way cheaper going air cooled LOL jk. Probably ~550 for a hardline loop.

I paid ca. $400-500 for my soft tubing loop a few years back, but I definitely could've shopped smarter. I bought an EKWB starter kit and their Vega 64 block to go with it, but for example I could've gotten a better radiator for around the same price as the EK one, or saved a lot on fittings. I also could've saved a chunk by not breaking my first pump housing, but live and learn.

I've also heard a lot of good things (for the price at least) about Barrow and Bykski parts. I can't vouch for them myself, but if I were building a new loop today I'd at least consider buying their parts, or at least using their fittings. That could easily shave a couple hundred buckazoids off.

Too vague of a question unless you know more about the rest of the system, the case its in, the type of tubing, and the requirements or use of the system.  I've built sub $300 loops and I've built $1700 loops.
