Hello all,

My last 5 GPUs have been from EVGA, my most recent being the 1080Ti (reference version, water cooled). I tried using Precision X when I installed the new card, but had a real rough time getting the settings I wanted, as well as finding bugs left right and center. Now obviously the program was new back in the day, but I went back to Afterburner due to comfort and stability. I am hopefully now on the cusp of getting a new EVGA 3080Ti, and was wondering if it was worth trying out Precision again? I remember one of the most frustrating things was having my overclock profiles disappear, or the program failing to boot on startup.

Thank you for your time,
Dev

I also using 1080ti with xoc, now i recently got a 3080ti and well.. we must use x1 from now

From what i see, all their problem is started from not applying settings

And ofcourse, the old little trick always do the job

(Apply-Save-Exit the program-then launch it again)
    Ugh..

Thanks for the response. I will try it at the beginning, but after browsing the forum I am a little skeptical.

The Precision was, is and probably will be a trash software product. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It is especially painful to control the fans, because it won't save your custom settings and even when you are able to finally save your fan settings (somehow using some weird workaround) one day (completely randomly) it can decide "nope, I don't like your settings anymore and from this point onward I will do what I want and you can't do anything about it".

    My issues with precision X...

The fans on my GPU seem to follow their fan curves but I've connected 3 fans into the fan header and can't get them to follow their fan curve.

Please see more info and screenshots here from 17 hours ago. I'd love to hear if anyone has a workaround, suggestion:

I also asked their tech support if they can speak to their dev team to see if we can turn up the ARGB cycle effects past 100 and they sent me here. To put it lightly, I felt fobbed off after stupidly paying over £1500 for a FTW3 3080 (nope, not even the ti), then getting no help from them has really disappointed me:

In summary, it seems that not many people use X1 and/or these forums so it's up to you if you'd like to take the risk in case anything goes wrong. I'd say it's not worth it but there again, if I get my 2 issues sorted then I'll be pleased.
