Hi all,
Noticed a few days ago that all my games were chugging hard (like running at 15-20 fps instead of 120-144 fps).
GPU: 3080 FTW3
CPU: i9 9900k
Tried restarting computer, did nothing. Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers and that fixed the issue but only for a little while and only until I restarted my computer. Upon restart, similar poor performance though reinstalling NVIDIA driver would fix the issue again. This happens with latest and previous stable version of the driver.
So I did some more digging around and decided to look in Precision X1. I know I updated that about a week or so ago. I only use X1 to set the LED colors and I set a custom fan curve, and that's it. I noticed when my computer is chugging, the following settings are in the "target" power window.
Power Target: 26
GPU Temp: 65
When it works fine, I see Power Target: 100, CPU Temp: 83.
Does this mean X1 is somehow setting my power low? Is there a reason it's doing this? Also fan curves are not working at all. When I have auto on, they all just sit at 0 RPM (even though I have 40% fan speed as the minimum).
Thanks!
