I was looking at purchasing a GPU so I could step up to a 3070 and the only GPUs in stock I could find from an authorized EVGA seller is a GT 210. My question is could I buy the GT 210 and step up to a 3070, or is the GT 210 to old or not allowed to step up to Amphere cards?

How could I tell it is a kr 210 without buying it? The one I am looking at is on Adorama.

On adorama it's the MFR on the product page. If you look at the cheaper 210 you can see the difference(it being an LR)

Uhm, I said it'll work and then told you how to check for the KR, one will be KR and the other will be LR, buy the KR.

Oh. Duh. I thought for whatever reason the mfr was a special ending to a serial number. MFR is manufacturer number isn't it. Why does it have to be a kr model? Does it mean something?

Only qualifying 3yr warranty products are eligible, which are the -KR models. *the KR 210 is eligible. I have also contacted EVGA and I am in the process of stepping up with a 210 -KR, so it works. If you need reassurance you can contact their customer support for more clarity.

Yup, and adorama is in EVGA's authorized store list, so at least you know you're fine ordering from them.

I'm not sure the difference between the KR and LR models in the Step up program. I recently purchased an EVGA 3060 TI xc which I believe is an LR model. Are those not available for step-up? Edit: I haven't picked up the card yet so I dont know if its an LR model, seems like a KR on the EVGA website. I just saw LHR on the receipt and thought that meant LR model.

Want to just double emphasize this - if you buy from Amazon or some other third-party seller, you're spending $50 pointlessly. EVGA will not accept your receipt.
