According to MSI's website on supported processors for this motherboard, the 5600X will work in this motherboard starting with bios 7C02v3A.

i had a r5 3600 which is great and i just got an alienware 2521hfl 240hz 1080p monitor and wanted to get my gpu performace percentage up and my fps to avg over 200fps. first video is r5 3600 and second is r5 5600x you will see the difference.

Nice. What is the 5600X hitting on clock speed? I have a 3600XT and was thinking about getting a 5600X, but wasn't sure if there was enough difference to warrant the change. Everyone says avoid the 5800X and get a 5900X, but I don't want to pay the price of the 5900X. AMD is starting to turn into Intel on pricing.

Some of the B550 boards support PCIe 4.0 now. My MSI B550 GAMING PLUS does, but it really only makes a difference if you use a 4.0 NVMe drive. Plus he is using a RTX 2080 Ti, which uses the PCIe 3.0 bus interface.

i dont know what clock speed is hitting .is that something that i can put up in afterburner osd. after change i cant get afterburner to show my cpu temp now either. and i dont overclock either i run stock. i was looking at the asus rog 550 f gaming board. i really like this tomahawk max i havnt had any issues with it. and im looking at changing ram to trident neo 2 3600 because i hear ryzen cpu loves it.

If you want to match AMD's Infinity Fabric, you need to go with 3800 MHz memory, but it's expensive.

I'm running the Ryzen 7 5800x on the MSI B450 Motherboard. Do the BIOS update and don't forget to do the Chipset update as well.

..and if you don't already know, don't worry about the thermals on the 5000 series, as long as you're cooled properly, temps are designed to run high in that card. My old R5 3600 is a 10 watt card, the new cards are 105 watts, so expect the thermals.

Only thing I did was use the R7 5800x as an excuse to upgrade my Cooler Master 212 Evo to a Dark Rock Pro4, and so glad I did, 250 TDP, thing is dead quiet, and does an outstanding job with temps.
