EVGA_Precision_X1_1.2.1.0 Crashes Immediately Upon Startup

I just put my new RTX 3070 TI XC3 Ultra in my PC and installed EVGA_Precision_X1_1.2.1.0. Upon startup it immediately crashes, but the screen saying that my card has a firmware update available stays on the screen. I don't feel safe pressing the button to update the firmware if the main app immediately crashes so I exit out of it.
 
Is there any workaround for the crash with the latest version of precision? I tried the workaround of going to C:\Users\<Your-Name>\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd and deleting the file here, but it didn't help. I'm on the very latest update for Windows 10 and have the very latest nvidia drivers too.

    I was able to get around this by installing the Steam version instead of the standalone version
