Wasn't sure where to post this because I am not sure if related to video card ( don't think it is ) or motherboard. But here goes.

2 SSD drives + 1 mech
No OC.
Latest windows build

PC froze while browsing. Sound stuck in loop ( loudly at that ). Power button non responsive. Shutdown via PSU switch.
Failed to post rest of night. Display wouldn't detect.
Swapped monitors, cables, GPUs. Removed RAM, disconnected additional compenents ( two other hard drives ). Swapped ports on PSU ( Corsair CX750M ) Would tuhrn on but would fail to post and no display detection.
Went to bed.
 
Woke up today It turned on with no issues ..****
10 minutes later it froze, sound loop, same as last night but it went right to automatic repair, which failed.
Recovery screen showed Error Code 0xc0000221 with windows\system32\drivers\qeois.sys
Pressing enter would bring up same screen. Pressing F8 would bring up same sccreen. Sometimes the error codes would change along with the file in question.
Eventually code 0xc0000001 came up.
Shutdown completely. Stepped away for a few minutes. Came back. PC turned on just fine.
Decided to reinstall windows. Did so. On reboot, system froze doing updates @ 3%.
Had to hard reboot. Back in same cycle as before.
 
Note * I did have some issues the other day where after updating my nvida drivers to the latest, I would get some sound stuttering while watching streams or videos that also added a 1 to 2 second freeze of the system. I downgraded the drivers a few times and that issue went away completely
 
Mobo codes I had pop up were 7F 30 FF mutiple times. Had 55 pop up today.
I am at a loss for words.
 
 
Edit: Removed ram from slot 2, left ram in slot 4. It booted. In windows. Install failed but going to reinstall again while its running. Will swap ram to slot 2 to see if slot is failing
 
Edit x2: Swapped ram around in the slots and so far everything is running. Reinstall went through with windows along with all the updates.

I got no idea what happened.

Sounds like over heating of the cpu. What cooling are you using? Did you lose voltage to the cooler?

Using a 212 evo. Temps seem fine. Sitting at 31c right now.

I really have no idea what the issue was but it seems to be working well now. *knock on wood*

If it's memory timings or a stick going bad, run a mem test program. Win 10 has a built in one or use something like this: https://hcidesign.com/memtest/download.html

Ran the mem test. Both sticks passed but the PC will only boot with one stick in DIMM 4. If I put one in DIMM 2 also, it won't post. Tried both sticks in DIMM 4 and it would post and get to windows. So the ram isn't the issue. Seems DIMM 2 is the issue

Going to see if 1 and 3 work

try reseating the cpu and clear cmos

Memory timings are finicky on this board. If I try and run 2 sticks of my Corsair ram at rated speed, it won't post or it hangs up.  Only 2400 max with 2 sticks. If I fill all 4 slots, I can then run at rated speed.

Looks like Maniac might have a handle on this but ill throw out this observation just to make more trouble i guess.   Your error code said;  0xc0000221 which is this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/bug-check-0xc0000221--status-image-checksum-mismatch  which is pointing to HDD/SSD/OS install/drive corruption and the pointer showed this file: windows\system32\drivers\qeois.sys which is specifically which is pointing more specifically to: QLogic iSCSI offload driver by Qlogic. Info here: https://www.pconlife.com/viewfileinfo/qeois-sys/   So this makes me wonder if you may have a psu voltage issue, what psu make and model you using and how old, or a mechanical hdd issue, what hdd are using aand how old, or maybe both. Qlogic is now Marvell as of 2018 and they both do network and bus devices, qlogic being the legacy products.

That was one of the messages that came up the first few times. It also spit out a bunch of other random files and codes too. AFAIK, I don't even have that file on my system ( the qeois.sys )

As for PSU, its a Corsair CM750-M. Got it maybe 4 years ago? Never had issues with it.

Have an old mech drive as storage but never had issues with that in the past.

My set up I been running at least a year now without issue. All of this popped up the other day. So its not like I just went to put all of this together and this happened.

Going to give reseating a shot now.

FYI I left my system on since last night and no issue at all but that was with only one DIMM slot filled.

That is odd. The DIMM pop table doesn't show that as a valid config. Would be valid if 4 had a DIMM as well.

Yep. Only DIMM 3 and 4 have sticks in it and its fine. I was confused when it booted with just a stick in DIMM 4 before. Thats what i been running with since the other day until today lol

Thats interesting, so it doesnt work unless your running in single channel mode, since you have one stick in each DIMM channel. If you are manually setting the ram up in bios with correct voltage and timings with a 2 for command rate then that would point to the mobo being the issue or the cpu itself may have a issue.

Replacement board arrived today and so far so good.
 
Memory showing 16gb in dual channel. Using the DIMM 2 and 4 as normal.
CPU temps nice at 29c
 
Ill have the old board shipped out tomorrow or friday hopefully soon as i figure out the best way to ship it ( UPS or USPS ). Thought there would have been a prepaid return label so didn't plan anything out on that part
