Advanced RMA benefits?

I don't see how advanced rma is worth it.
 
Regular rma has cross shipping too. So it seems like advanced rma just means I pay up front for shipping costs, but I may not even need to rma my card. 
 
Any thing I'm missing?

    EVGA's Advanced RMA - Cross-Ship program

    The EVGA Advanced RMA (EAR) Program protects your product in the case of failure. If something was to go wrong with your EVGA product, the standard RMA process will be accelerated by shipping a replacement product to you first, EVGA will pay for shipping both ways as well. This will cut down the amount of time your system will be down and save you money on shipping.

    The cost of shipping the defective product to EVGA is often more than the cost of the advanced RMA.  I have done a few of these...well worth the time and effort

    Yeah, a good bit. Cross ship means your card is 100% not in your hands while you wait for the replacement, for the nearly same cost of the advanced RMA.

    Adavanced RMA means your keep your card until the replacement arrives, so if it is working but not optimally, then the new product will get to you with no downtime.

    None of this matters now that they've ended the EAR program :(
