The demand will likely not decrease, people like games ! Thank EVGA for the Queues at least they make an effort to provide us with cards, I am waiting nicely and hope to be up and running very soon. Did you get on the Queues ?

They are making more video cards right now than ever before. The supply chain and distribution can improve, but it isn't broken. It's better than it has ever been. The problem is outrageous demand. Demand will decrease when people stop demanding it.

Exactly, its not that the supply is the problem its demand is way up. Last thing these companies want to do is invest in production to be wasted when this ends

I think by fall we will see prices going back to normal. nVIDIA is producing more chips and more gpus are on the way. Profit margins for scalpers are also thinning so they could go extinct very soon (hopefully).

I saw a chart saying prices peaked in May. If the trend continues to drop after June you may be right about prices in 5 or 6 months. But, right now cards are about x2 MSRP if you want to find something in stock.

Based on my own personal investigations supply is improving only a little bit, especially here in Europe. Prices are still too high (above MSRP). I still believe in my original estimate that supplies won't improve until 2022.

Seems like they are going to be scarce for a while. Your best option is to get on the waiting list, though its hard to say how long this will take.
