What is best gpu for 2k resultion?

RTX 3080 runs 1440p very well. I have the 6700xt and its not too shabby but the 3080 outperforms mine for sure

Try and get a 3080 or above. It also depends on what game you wan't to play because then you could use a lower level card

RTX 3070 or RTX 3070 Ti, after these cards its the point of diminishing returns for 1440p, a RTX 3080 is really designed for 4K and is not really worth the extra money unless you're planning on some intense GPU stuff, if you want better chances of getting a card, go for RTX 3070 Ti as launch day is lurking around the corner but if you want to save money, then go for RTX 3070.

If you'd like to spend the extra on an RTX 3080 - go ahead, it's just that the 3080 is more expensive and doesn't really return too much more performance inside a 1440p environment; instead a 4k environment, it comes with a whole load of extra performance but yeah. It's up to you on the final decision.

By the way, I recommended RTX 3070 Ti because that's going to be releasing soon and launch day is sometimes the easiest day to buy a Graphics Card or to get into EVGA queue.

I will wait untill 3070 ti launch, hope i can get one.

RTX 3060Ti? at minimum, 3070Ti will be more than enough

3070 ti won't last you with 8 gb of vram, get a 3080 at the very least.
