Elite membership seems like a good idea. It seems to be working somewhat well however when someone wants something bad enough they will do whatever it takes to make it happen. It almost like cybersecurity by playing the cat and mouse game.

When it comes right down to it the retailers are the ones who sells cards. They need to have some type of anti-bot buying methodology. One GPU per address, per client, per week, etc.

But what if the Elite Members are the ones selling the GPU over the MSRP? At least some of the Elite Members... probably. I upgraded to an EVGA RTX 2080 XC Gaming from an XFX RX560D. I got tired of dealing with the technical issues from using that RX560D. And customer support wasn't any help. So I purchased a new EVGA RTX 2080 above MSRP of $799.99. However, I am still wondering how that eBay seller made money. Because when I calculated the purchase price.That seller couldn't have made any profit even if the price eBay seller listed is above MSRP; eBay fees plus the sales tax (when that eBay seller originally purchased the GPU at MSRP) would be just equal to the total amount that I have paid him.

evga is doing more than other board makes but there isn't a simple solution short of coming up with a bullet proof identification system. SensMachine
Plus countries should ban crypto.
it certainly needs to be regulated

SSN and drivers license is a bit excessive lol. There's better ways to prevent bots and scalpers from buying a bunch of cards at one time.

We've also implemented a very strict one part number, per person, per household, which has been helping us give others an opportunity to get a card.

As others have said, elite membership is one way they're going about it I imagine. Glad to hear purchase limits are in place as well.
