I hear a lot of people recommend the Corsair Power Supply.  How do the EVGA power supply compare to them?  I was looking at the Corsair SF750 Platinum.  I am looking for efficiency and quietness.

Quietness hands down Corsair is better, you can see that from all the reviews. Efficiency wise depends but I would say are about equal. Customer service/warranty alsovery good with both. Right now it depends on stock and if you can actually get hold of a high powered one if needed.

I had corsair but it only lasted a few months.  Decided to go with EVGA and had it the same psu for several years.

That’s good to know, I just asked about this on another thread. Although I guess you will always run into a quiet “bottleneck” on every machine. Mine is my CPU cooling fans :/

I've never had an issue with EVGA psu's.. My tower is on my desk next to me and the only thing I hear are the front fans of my tower.  Never had an issue with any whine or any other noise from the power supplies.  That goes for all three of my computers that have EVGA power supplies on them.

I was considering a Fractal Design Ion+ 860W Platinum for a quiet power supply. If a similarly rated Corsair PSU went on sale, should I get that instead?

I'm not sure how good Fractal ones are when compared to Corsair. But, if it's similar specs/models between Fractal and Corsair, I'd go with Corsair because of my history with Corsair PSUs. However, availability is more important at the moment, I guess

Really, you shouldn't be comparing brands as much as you should compare individual models at your price point. Neither brand is "better" across the board.

The SF750 Platinum is a fantastic power supply for SFF builds. I would however, look at the competition at the price point and look at professional reviews before purchasing.

Depends on what you are looking at!

High wattage PSUs currently are being bought up by crypto miners to power as many GPUs as possible, so there is limited availability of such units. Prices of high wattage units are inflated when you do find them. Additionally, in USA, tariffs have driven PSU cost up a bit in the past years.

However, lower wattage units do not seem to be effected as much. You can still get a decent unit for not a lot of money, especially if you are willing to go bstock.

Well . . . in just few words: Corsair have 80 Platinum certification, so they are more efficient

I've used both and both have been great. The Corsair psus seem to be quieter.

it depends on what wattage and series you are looking at.  the p2 is better than the rmx, but the ax is better than the p2.
