I was actually thinking of running the gpu and cpu on different loops. I have a 360mm Z73 kraken I planned on running on the cpu (because I really like the visible temp display, and running a separate loop on the kingpin with the copper block.



That's a nice AIO, they review well anyway. I would suggest you try and rig up a lot of fresh air intake and have both your CPU rad and GPU rad(s) exhaust if you can help it. If you have one pushing hot air into the other, it can be a problem. As an example, you could set up that case to have the AIO in the top, a high quality 360mm radiator for the GPU out the side, and good beefy fans on the bottom for intakes.

Well, I got a love affair going on with my Z390 Dark, with bios updates I was able to oc my Gskill Royal Silver b-die kit from 2018 to 4500Mhz CL17 on air which was really good for 2019 and for the 8086K's IMC which was not as good as the 9900Ks or Comet Lake's IMC.
 
I just believe if EVGA is listing 5333Mhz (and a plus sign after it) in the Z590 Dark specs, it should happen if not now then with the next bios update.
 
Kinda will make my mind up for Z790 and Raptor Lake next year - either Apex XV OR Z790 Dark.
 
Already running 5866Mhz "in total amazement" easy and stable on air so feel like I can skip Alder Lake and early DDR5. 
 
Has anyone asked Jacob if 5333, 5600, 5866 are going to happen for the Dark?
 
My Z390 Dark wants a Z790 Dark big brother next year. lol

first of all why do u want to go 5333 ? why DJR or other ic? if u want to run other memory kits other than BDIE u are on your own, it may or may not work. u cannot blame the DARK for that, there are other vendors which can run better than the dark with different ic(BZ said on one of his stream the tachyon did better than DARK on djr) .BDIE reigns supreme over any other IC in terms of gaming performance. they might have put 5333+ in the web page just for marketing, just like 23 phase vrm(it doesnt have 23phase) . tbh u might even be able to do 5333 i have no idea, but afaik they have optimized it for bdie, so other ic may or may not work compared to other vendors. also the 5333+ claim is so vague as well.

Thanks for the reply. I totally understand how more cores are beneficial in editing video, but not as much as they were in the past. The newer editing software is leaning more and more towards gpu  power (as it should), so core counts aren't as critical. I also just personally prefer intel over amd (even though amd usually uses more cores). I  havent purchased ram yet, and was waiting to see which ram worked best with this board.
As far as mastering overclocking.....that's definitely not my goal, I just want a killer bulletproof system that will shred whatever I throw at it without breaking a sweat! I want a PC that will remain cool and fast when I walk away while a video transcodes or renders for 3-4 hours.



The 11900k can be fast (at various tasks)...but it is not cool. At least, it isn't easy to cool. The 5000x series runs a bit warm too (for a different reason involving really small die-size and how to get heat out of such a small area effectively), but not as hot and it takes quite a setup to cool an 11900k, more than a 5000x CPU does anyway. If you're willing to buy a top of the line motherboard and the best CPU for it, just also plan on spending a lot of money for cooling if you expect it to actually stay cool. For example, if you put a good water-loop on it, you should be able to run 5.2-5.3GHz all-core no problem. If you put a small radiator on it, or air cooler, or restrict the airflow to your radiators in a case that doesn't allow adequate airflow, you're going to run into problems running the CPU fast.


the problem with 11th gen is that intel screwed their STIM application. 
my cpu cores have a delta of 18c.

Yeah, I saw Der8aur's delid video on the 11900k too. He had a huge reduction in temps. Too bad the location/proximity of the caps make it a good likelihood of damaging something with these too.
 
Edit: I did not know that their STIM application can be that bad. That is horrendous.
