I wonder if I should run the AIO in the front. Or run 140mm fans up front. My brain always tends to go big. I forgot how big 43 is...I went to go pick it up at Microcenter and I was like....****...how am I gonna fit this in my 335 coupe?!?! I'm going to get 2 more 27" and extend my desk too.

But where there is a will there is a way 😈. Had to drive home with the top down though 😅

AIO at the top is best if you have the space. You can run it at the front also, but do check proper orientation/position of the heatsink, GamersNexus and Jays2cents have a few good videos on that topic. I went with Scythe Fuma 2 + Scythe slipstream at the back and really satisfied. For another build I bought an Arctic Freezer II, but not tried it yet.

P.S. Just remembering that ~7 years ago we went to pick up a TV and bought a 40" Sony. It was almost the most smallest TV in the shop, and we were discussing a 48" that luckily we didn't buy as when we arrived home, 40" was gigantic (coming from an old 24") as the room had only ~3m of space between the couch and TV, so anything bigger you need to move your head to watch  Perspective really can s...w up the logical choice IMO.

It makes me so happy every time I see someone correctly citing these videos.

As much as I love every part of this build, the cable management is the sexiest bit.

Little birdy at my local micro center texted me this afternoon and told me to get in line tonight for an EVGA 3080ti. I'm third. Got water, chair, portable AC, granola bar, power bank and an umbrella. My boys (doggies) are with the dog sitter for the night. No tent and cicadas out in full force. Lets do this - Wish me luck boys and girls 🤞

I figured if I could stand in line for 5 hours to vote last November I can sit in a chair for 14 hours.

Just in case though I do have an open step up through EVGA too. My time is 809am.

Here we go again. Decided I wanted a bigger desk so I have to do cables all over again. Also got an arm for the monitor so I don't sit so close to it. I have a mini PC that I am gonna pair with a 27 just to watch YouTube and the like while gaming....cause well...I can. It'll be a PC my dad can use if he visits so he can work remotely so he doesn't take my damn PC from me.

Re: First Build - Thanks Daniel!! 2021/08/31 03:52:09 (permalink)
And I finished the build for the 3080ti. So I guess this is my "second" build.

Be Quiet Silent Base 802
EVGA Z590 FTW Motherboard
Intel I9-11900k
G.Skill Ripjaws V 4400mhz 2x16gb RAM
Samsung 980 Pro 1tb M.2 storage
EVGA 3080Ti FTW
EVGA P6 1000w PSU
Lian Li  Galahad 360mm AIO
5 x SL140mm Lian Li Uni Fans
Cable Mod Custom Cables
Lian Li Sag Bracket (The small black one GB-001 that is really discreet.  I had to attach it to the right most motherboard risers instead of the middle ones because the middle riser was blocked by the black trim on motherboard.  The bracket fit RIGHT over the SATA connectors which was perfect)

Just installed windows last night. Only took me 2 months 🤣 - I've been lazy.  My boyfriend was like...uhh when are you going to build this the GPU and all these PC parts have literally been sitting in their boxes since June.

Wiring was really straight forward.  I wired up the AIO rgb with the Lian Li Fan controller along with the AIO fans (this took a special adapter that I had to order - it's available in their extra wiring kit but I just ordered one off of ebay since that's the only one I needed and I didn't want the extra end that the lian li kit had (see picture)) so that everything can just be controlled via their software.  This is the tutorial I followed: https://youtu.be/njlkdM9lYbI

I might take the back off and take a photo too later.  I think I did a better job with the cable management this time vs last time..but this case is bigger so I had a lot more room to work with.  This case also has a sliding tray for the AIO so it made wiring SO EASY.  I love that feature and wish all cases had it (see picture).  Only thing I didn't hook up was the manual fan controls on the case buttons because it was some sort of 5-pin adapter and I just was like screw it.

The only part that I currently have on order is an AIO cover (see picture).

I also think I might attempt to create a stat LCD display..thinking about putting it on the PSU shroud but I need to take some measurements and decide how I want it to look before I do it.  Don't know if anyone can tell but I am kind of particular when it comes to neat wires.

I haven't really messed around in BIOS - although I ran their robot OC tuner and the CPU is running at 5GHz.  I tried enabling the XMP profile for the RAM but it crashed so I guess I need to figure out a stable setting for that.  Having a CMOS reset button is SUPER nice and it's nice to be able to switch between 2 BIOS profiles.  I REALLY like the features on this motherboard and am looking forward to figuring out some more of the tuning aspect of things.  I have experience tuning cars - I had a Subaru WRX about 5 years ago that I built up and modified and tuned myself to over 350hp. PC building is A LOT cheaper than car modding..you mess up tuning on a car and you're looking at a motor rebuild.  I sold the WRX before I moved and am now driving a BMW 335i.  Open source car tuning software is a bit different than PC stuff...but the concept is the same as far as mapping out things from what I understand.  I could be wrong though.
