Hi folks! Hope someone can help a feller out. I have a dual monitor setup, I'm using an Asus VG27V as my primary display, and an Acer V276HL as secondary. I needed a longer cable to connect the Acer, so I picked up a Displayport to DVI adapter cable, specifically this one:
I'm running Windows 10, latest build, latest nVidia drivers, and I'll be darned if I can get a display on the Acer V276HL with this cable while in Windows. The motherboard defaults to that monitor, so I can see it while in the UEFI/BIOS settings, and while Windows is loading, it is the one that displays the Windows logo and loading progress ring. But as soon as the desktop loads, it loses the signal and defaults over to the Asus (which is connected via HDMI).
Again, it's really weird, and I don't think it's the cable per se since as I said, it shows the boot logo and the windows loading screen both.
Windows recognizes the monitor, too; my display settings shows I have two monitors connected, and I can "move" them, although it keeps all icons and files crammed over on the single active display. Oh, and the nVidia control panel recognizes that there's a second display over there, too. I'd be worried that I'd killed the monitor moving it and swapping the cables but...again, I get a full display on it, just as long as I'm not in Windows.
Any suggestions before I return the DP-DVI cable and just get a longer DVI cable?
Thanks in advance everyone!
