Hi,

Last year, I converted my EVGA 2080 Super FTW3 to Hydro Water cooled. Now I am converting back to fans. So far I have attached the board to the sink via the four spring screws that go around the GPU. I am now trying to attach the backplate using the 21 screws, but this doesn’t work.

QUESTION
Clearly the Hydro has 21 screw slots that can be used to attach the backplate, but the heatsink doesn’t have these. How do I attach the backplate.

I marked some of the screw holes.

Put the mid plate back on.

Can be seen starting at 4:00. You can’t leave parts out, or it won’t work. There is also thermal pads between the mid plate and the pcb, so make sure you install the thermal pads as well.

I see what I am missing now. Originally I thought I was doing something wrong, but I am missing the mid board. I thought my wife threw the fans and sink out, but after digging for two days we found it, but the mid board was not present.

Does anyone know where I can find the mid board for a 2080 Super FTW3?

Can someone help me determine what metrics I need to about the PCB to make sure I get the right cooler size.

It looks to me like the 2080ti FTW3 is the same size as the 2080 Super FTW3?

I'm curious why you're deciding to switch back to fans away from hybrid as I'm wanting to switch to hybrid to hopefully get better temps.

Are you going to remove water cooling, install air cooling, to sell a video card?
