FF7 definitely when growing up.  I was able to rent FF6 a couple of times from the local supermarket but never got far.  Honestly, I never did beat it until I got myself the SNES Classic.  But if it counts, FF11 Online is my favorite one.

Do the new games old up? I loved FF as a kid, but nowadays I find it old FF games extremely unengaging. Just like pokemon, you just mash one button all the time and get annoyed at the enemies spawning randomly all the time.

Final Fantasy IX. Just all around a masterpiece of a game. I have love for VII and VIII too, but IX is just better.
