board was shipped but I dont have it yet.  They are B die, and i noticed gskill had F4-4000C16D-32GTZR and the same set F4-4000C16D-32GTZRA and the one with the "A" was a new release. no idea what they changed.  (I'm hoping refreshed z590 microcode)

On the positive(?) side, I only have 2x16GB sticks of 4000MHz because I'm coming from a Z490 Dark KP board, which only has 2 dimm slots. I do have another 4x8GB sticks of 3600GHz memory from an earlier build, so I guess I've got it covered either way.. I hope. All are Corsair Dominator Platinums.

Possibly Tuesday.  That seems to be a semi-regular thing with drops, enough that folks have started referring to 'Tuesday' as 'Queuesday'.

They're typically very closed mouth about drops in general, because they don't want to be locked into an estimate, and create a lot of angst and disappointment should something delay the drop or there not be as many skus available as they thought.

im up and running, set XMP profile 1 and gear 2 (4000mhz)....  thats all 4 sticks for 64gb total.

one thing to note.  after I set XMP/Gear2 it seemed like I was stuck in a bootloop.....  it just keep rolling through post codes with no beep.  I was just about to walk away and do some reading and it posted.....  maybe there was some extended "self testing" going on and I was not patient enough.

another note.  ive never seen damn windows install so fast than on this SN850 drive.  holy hell I am stoked.

oh, one gripe...... some of that protective plastic was a PITA to remove.

Tired of being treated like a mushroom, can someone from evga tell us when more boards are going to drop with out making us scour the internets.

My evga 2080ti hybrid has been acting up lately artifacting and running slow. I’m reluctant to RMA it since I’m pretty sure I’ll get an air cooled replacement. I talked to a rep about a month ago but he wasn’t very helpful.

The UPS driver has been doing laps around my town all day and still hasn't dropped off my board yet. I couldn't track the package for a week, but now I have the "follow my package" feature where it tells you where they are on the map. Just circling my house... All day... I swear they're just messing with me lol.

It would be nice, but I don't think they'll ever give out that info.

Last week was approximately 80 boards. This week thus far has been zero (That we know of). Given the issues with getting chips, etc.., I'm not even certain they know when the next batch is going to be ready.

I'd love to know what sort of timeline is involved myself, I've got parts coming for a new build, much like everyone else here but I'd be extremely surprised to see any sort of official info on availability. There are too many factors they don't control at present, and giving people a date, quantity or other info will just lead to a firestorm when something happens to disrupt expectations based on that info.

To give a bit of perspective, I work for an Ag company. We sell equipment and supplies to farmers and ranchers for the most part. We've stopped giving people estimates on deliveries and product availability. Between the millions of dollars worth of inventory we have tied up at various ports that we can't lay hands on (There's a shortage of drivers and containers, among other issues), the prices and availability of steel and other raw materials, and the delays our suppliers and partners are having with those same issues (Stihl, for example, has been out of motors for chainsaws, etc.. for months because of supply line issues) we just can't offer any sort of reliable information. In most cases, the delays involved in getting something as simple as King Kutter mower decks and other implements for tractors (something that used to have a lead time of a couple of weeks) has now turned into estimates of several months at best. Some of our suppliers have told us that some things, for new orders placed today, aren't expected to ship until after the first of the year.

TL:DR - Yea, it'd be great to know when we can expect sufficient product to fulfill the queue, but given global logistics at present, don't expect much beyond "We're working on it" or "Possibly, maybe, next week(ish). Sort of." type answers.

Seriously though. I still have to go back for a few pieces.

I received my board from UPS around 8:30PM last night and only got about 90% of the install done before calling it a night. I have to go to work today lol. Also, I was tired and didn't want to make stupid mistakes with tired brain. I'll post some pictures in my mods rigs page today. For being such a huge computer case, this build is now super snug. The board is pretty, but so far that's all I can say.

Edit: update posted in Mods rigs page. Link in signature.

dude i had to bust out tweezers.  the perforated tear off made no sense unless they assumed you would just leave it there to melt off.

Quoted as a reminder that while we may be making progress on the human front with vaccines (seriously, get vaccinated if you can.  The sooner we get dosed, the sooner we can drop the masks), there is a lot of work on everything else to get back to normal.

It has been many years since that has happened. I have not heard any indication from anyone at EVGA that a move towards AMD parts is in their future. I guess they could surprise us some day, but it would be a pretty big surprise.

I don't think so. Unless the person posts on here, I don't think we'd know about it. The wait is killer.

Sadly, no.

My CPU and AIO show up Thursday.  I'd love to be able to put them on a board...  (not so subtle plea to EVGA )

Re: Sneak peak at A New Generation of Excellence, EVGA Z590 Motherboards 2021/05/13 04:25:42 (permalink)
Mine is officially alive. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it or tune things, but I booted my xmp profile to 4000MHz, gear2, 16-19-39 at 1.4V and it booted fine. I then changed it to 3733, gear1, 16-16-36, 1.4V and it booted happily. I ran the OC Robot and it cranked my 11900k up to 5.4GHz all-core and said "this is good", telling me to just set it there, so I did. In windows, it seems to run at 5.3GHz all-core. I installed the Intel extreme tuning app and it said turbo velocity boost (the temperature dependant setting) was off, but it also said I had PL1 and PL2 at "unlimited". I couldn't find settings in the bios for ABT or TVB or the CPU power states at all. I'm guessing they're in some sort of hidden advanced tab, but it seems they may already be in the state I'd set them at anyway. I'll have to keep playing, but this is why I asked in a different thread for a manual or guide to the bios gui. Anyway, I ran some cinebench and the Intel stability test and did not have any issues, but I haven't ran any of them long yet. Got a cpu-z score of 715 single core and about 7233 MC (going from memory, sorry I'll have to verify later). Did a time spy run https://www.3dmark.com/spy/20281218

i love that evga packs the drivers on a usb drive now.  I haven't used a dvd/cd rom in many years.

also, the eleet x1 drivers they bundled doesn't work.  looks like it is the z490 version...  no Biggy.  i am sure it is coming.

I wonder what will be better for gaming performance: 4000MHz, gear2, 16-19-39 at 1.4V /OR/ 3733, gear1, 16-16-36, 1.4V

That is one thing I have to check. I didn't run any games and only did a single Superposition run at my GPU's bleeding-edge-of-stability clocks lol.

Also, I didn't even put that USB stick in. I would like to try the eleet program and see what other settings I can play with. I just didn't have time to do any more, so I left it as is. It sounds like 3866MHz might be the very highest gear 1 speed possible according to the igor's lab link you posted (silicon lottery dependent of course), but if I have no issues with 3733, I may try 3866 just to see what happens. I was super thrilled when both the OC robot and Intel's XTU app said my CPU was happy and "optimized" for a 5.4GHz all-core OC.

I posted pics in my Mods Rigs post, but here are the traces on the CPU block mount that concerned me:

Here's the fiber washer I used on the right-side posts:

Left side was fine though:

Edit: also, I got the rest of the film off the heat-sinks (I hope). The little electronics tweezers for the win (pun intended). I had to take my GPU out to get the last piece that was in between the HS and the yellow capacitors in the audio circuit. Dead serious question: why the perforations? It's like they wanted all these little pieces to break off and get stuck in places. My suggestion to everyone reading this who hasn't put their board in yet: get the finest tweezers you can (or maybe a lock-pick or metal shim or something you can at least pry the film off with on the sides) and make sure you get it all off in the daylight before you put it in your case. I did most of my work on this project at night and was constantly using a flash-light to make sure I could see in some of the tight areas after I put the board in my case and realized it would have been much easier sitting out on a table in the daylight lol.

Edit2: Finally(!) updated my signature to show the new build

dude.  i just went and doubled checked my board and guess what????  I still had a little protective film behind the yellow capacitors.  lucky for me i always benchtop my stuff for a few days before a build but it was a PITA to get off and not hit anything in the process.

EVGA needs to make a phone call on this and get that changed.
