Moved thread to Hardware, since this is not an EVGA product.

At this point what makes it a good deal is that you were able to get one.  For reference I got an Asus Rog Strix 3070 from best buy last month for $780, and I got a Powercolor 6800 Red Devil from microcenter for a little over $1000.  microcenter's was overpriced, specially compared to the MSRP price for the EVGA 3080 ftw3 I got from the queue, but good deals because I was able to get them lol.  Unfortunately best buy doesn't do drops often.

No that is insanely overpriced. Their 6800xt model (ASUS TUF OC) is not really much above that. I was able to grab one a few days ago (it was open box so I got it for around 950 + 100 tax) but it has some interesting issues. They're severely lacking in ray tracing performance; and with Metro Exodus Ray Tracing edition coming out shortly I would want that RT performance, especially if other games follow. Then, I also had issues where if the framerate was left uncapped in Fortnite or Doom Eternal, the card would whine terribly and lock up the PC. Then it would just keep restarting the PC until I unplugged the power cable. It's probably a transients related issue, which is difficult to diagnose and prob impossible to fix.
My woes aside, that is still a terrible deal because of the price alone.

not a good deal but it is the price on the scalpers market. if you NEED a gpu, then i suppose you should keep it. if it's about value, it's bad.

one day, we'll get out of this nightmare. i wonder if apple will ever start making discrete GPUs. they seem to have some efficient and scalable tech. if they can create some 64-128 core GPU that fits right in the PCIE slots of motherboards, they can pretty much charge any price and high end gamers will eat them up

AIB at almost 2x reference price for about 2-5% performance increase or noise decrease is not a good deal. But it is what it is at the moment.

honestly, 6700xt is a stupid move by AMD, they are just pulling an nVidia and stealing your money
its not much better than 5700xt, the vram runs extremely hot

I would definitely pass on a 6700XT for that price. I might pay that much for a 6800XT, but only because I'm getting really desperate.
