Intel Xe-HPG DG2 GPU Powered Laptop & Desktop Gaming Graphics Cards Specifications Leak Out, Up To 4096 Cores at 1.8 GHz & 100W TGP
Just a day after Intel stated that its Xe-HPG DG2 GPU powered graphics card lineup is right around the corner, a new leak has unveiled specifications of several laptop and desktop SKUs which will be launching later this year.

Intel Xe-HPG DG2 GPU Powered Mobility & Desktop Graphics Lineup Leaks Out, Coming To Alder Lake-P Laptops Later This Year

Published by Igor's Lab, the latest details show a block diagram that suggests that Intel had initially planned Xe-HPG DG2 GPUs for its high-end Tiger Lake-H chips which are launching next week but it looks like the lineup didn't align with the 11th Gen CPU launch hence they will now be introduced in the 12th Gen Alder Lake-P laptops that launch in the second half of 2021.

I'm really curious to see what this could mean for the current market. As I understand it Intel makes it's own chips and even though there is high demand for silicon, they might have the perfect opportunity right now to enter a complete new market as a competitor to nvidia/amd. Even if people are sceptical due to unproven drivers and new hardware, if nobody can get their hands on a reasonably priced nvidia/amd GPU then an Intel GPU might be the next best thing.

As long as they step in with important features like variable refreshrates and perhaps raytracing support, they might have a winner here :)

Edit: I noticed that the iGPU variant supports DP2.0 but not HDMI 2.1, pretty strange since DP2.0 is nowhere to be seen yet..
