i downloaded the software. set the x17 mouse rate to 8000hz. worked fine. came home today and turned on my computer, and now windows gives me an error saying power surge on hub port. The generic usb hub has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port. you should disconnect the device. win 10. i also plugged it into my old win 7 pc and same error. i would be glad to run it at a lower hz rate if my system cant run it, but the firmware is already saved on the mouse, and since i cant get any usb's to power it, i cant change it. i literally just bought this rig last week:
  • Intel Core i7 10700F 2.90GHz (4.80GHz Turbo Boost), 8-Core 16-Thread
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB evga ftw3
  • EVGA CLC 240MM RGB All In One Cooler
  • 16GB DDR4 3000MHz
  • 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
  • 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU
  • EVGA Z15 RGB Gaming Keyboard
  • EVGA X17 Gaming Mouse
  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit

I would contact EVGA support often times when a USB device draws too much power error happens it's because the device shorted out.
