My card crashes when I put the memory from 800 upwards, I have tried various settings in the power limit 60, 65, 70 and in the core -150, -200, -400 and it always crashes when I put the memory from 800 upwards, does this happen to anyone?

Posting I set mine to +xxxx  - Actually means very little, because it is only relative to your setup

Please list your Actual MHz observed, Temps, Power draw & software your running to load the card

We have no idea about your PC --> you have not shared your system specs

Could be driver, OS, PSU, temps, software, MB, OC on your other items ..........

what are you trying to do when it crashes ?

OS details, Nvidia driver ........

OC is not guaranteed ..... is what it is .... sometimes you win the lottery

What have you already tried

Yes, it happens to lots of folks who overclock their VRAM too high. If I try +1200 my system will reboot, and crash in benchmarks most of the time when over +1150. Increasing the voltage slider won't really do much (if anything) for VRAM overclocking.

Actively cool your card more (dry ice/chilled water, etc.) if you want to see if your VRAM can be pushed more - but likely it wont go very much higher.

I got my VRAM up to 2000, does this mean I won the silicon lottery?

yes, you probably hit you limit. it may suck, but +800 is probably you ram overclock limit.
Evga optimize their cards higher, so while your oc limit may be lower, the performance will be about the same with other comparable cards.

Depends on the individual card how high it can go. Silicon lottery applies to not only the GPU die but memory modules as well and you're only as fast as your weakest chip.

It also depends on the case airflow and the thermal pads.

But your delta doesn't mean much. Like others have said, the absolute clocks mean more. Some cards come out of the box already clocked higher, so you'll find your clock limit at a lower delta.

^This.

If you're crashing at +800.... that means you'll need to back that down little by little to get your memory overlock to be stable.

Just because you're crashing at +800 while others have been able to go higher, doesn't mean anything unless you're able to directly compare what the stock clocks are and what GPU boost is doing before applying an overclock.

You could be perfectly fine and be of similar performance with +500 compared to other cards from different AIBs who may clock them higher.

This is a part of overclocking, and with the rtx 3000 cards there's a point where the memory overclock will cost you performance so make sure to check with that, +500 mhz seems to be the sweet spot for most cards.

Here's the solution: don't.

ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium
My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill
