I just installed my 3080FTW. None of my fans are running unless I manually open PX1 and set a static % for the fans. I open a game, Warzone for instance, and I have PX1 on my second monitor and the VGA1 page looks like:

Why, according to this fan curve, are my fans not at the designated % when at a certain temp? The game is minimized, the temps somehow are 60C and the fans are running at 30% in that photo. If I actually load a game, drop into Warzone, I will touch 86C in about 3minutes with this setup. Already happened. I set them static to 50%, My temps go from 58-64C in game. Thats fine. However, I dont want to have to manually close a game, sit and do generic web browsing, and hear that much fan noise when my GPU is in idle state. Can someone please help??

* I have updated my BIOS (ASUS ROG Maximus XII Hero WiFi) and the VBIOS and for some reason Resizable BAR is still disabled:

If you uninstall Precision X1, reboot, re-install the NVIDIA driver using the the custom->clean install option, do the fans start working?  You can monitor the GPU temperatures with GPU-z while Precision X1 is not installed.  It would be an interesting troubleshooting step.

I agree with ty_ger07 - I've seen more problems induced from nVidia's driver install process than I care to think about.

I mean the fans spin, but the %'s dont match the curve I set. So instead, I have all 3 linked and set them to 40-50% and I'm peaking about 64-66C. They just run at that speed regardless of what I do and it shouldnt be that way :(

I just did a clean install of PX1 after an uninstall and a reboot but I will try a clean install of the nvidia driver after uninstalling PX1 again and rebooting. Not sure what I am really looking for, if the fans dont spin up and down and I'm touching 72C even, I find that warm. Maybe thats only because my 2070S FTW3 Ultra OC was peaking mid 60s so I consider that my high point? I'm looking at undervolting now..

rebooted my PC. Been browsing on Chrome for 30mins. GPU is at 61C and the fans arent even on... **** is this? I have the fan curve to custom and even tried aggressive. why are they not even ramping to 10%? My GPU should be in the 30's

Dude the fans don't even kick on until 60'C. This is by design and regulated by the BIOS. If you want to override the silent operation at idle, then switch your card to the OC bios to let your fans spin all the time.

I'm not commenting on your earlier post because don't know why Precision says what it says about your curve as I don't use it. But I feel pretty confident saying this is user error.

I see that you still have Precision X1 installed.  Just ignore my advice, I guess.

Precision X1 is buggy.  It's going to be impossible to troubleshoot the 88c with 0% fan problem, if you leave Precision X1 installed.

Good luck.  If you aren't going to follow basic troubleshooting steps, you are on your own.  It's quite obviously a bug with Precision X1 or user error with Precision X1.  Good luck figuring it out!

By looking at that screen auto fans are not on.  I also do not link my fans.  Click on paper clip to let program control the fans for the section that needs more cooling.  They do not all run at the same speed depending on how hot a section is.

Also if you have msi afterburner delete it in case it bugs something, or delete the evga software and i stall only mai after burner which works nicely.

Check your settings, cause auto the fans may speed 30-40% and thats why high tmperatures,

Check if you also have oc bios or silent one which may be the case

I could be wrong as my sight is not great, but from what I can see on your 2nd picture, the "Fan Curve Control" box is not checked. You need to check that to enable your fan curves.

As eg said you need to check that box on the fan curve page and hit apply currently you have fans set to 0. You can also use the OC bios, which only modifies fan curve.

and you would have to do this every time because when you reboot its going back to stock unless you save a profile and make it load when booting

gotta press the little grey button (which will then turn purple) on the fan curve screen to get it to apply. Otherwise it's just applying the default fan curve from the BIOS
