If that's the case I'll sell it and find another brand to go with. I dealt with fan issues on strix cards and my buddy swore up and down evga was the way to go. Definitely didn't pay $2100 for a subpar experience of having a new flagship card for a month only to get a crappy refurb.

    As an option: https://www.evga.com/prod...aspx?pn=400-HY-1978-B1
If you an Elite member you can by it for $90. EVGA allow to swap cooling system without void warranty.

P.S. I am not sure if it fits on Kingpin.

Nice, selling a failing card to an unsuspecting stranger.

I would sell the refurb man, I'm not a dick. Plus I'm sure people would still line up to buy it even knowing that it has a bad pump.

there are several threads open on KP pump and 3XXX pumps already
many received the cards with noisy pumps from start, others failed after few months...

I've had mine for 2 months & it only started having significant pump noise after a system swap during which the card was completely out of the system for several hours, not sure how that led to the pump noise, but it did - had no significant noise previously & now it sounds like a miniature under water air compressor, all the time.  It's loud enough that it is the loudest thing in the system by far, and my system has 21 fans (all at 900-1100RPM so silent), so that's saying something.  Previously the PSU fan was the loudest thing in the system, but this is much louder than that.

I'm also planning on either getting a Kingpin HC when they're available & RMAing then reselling the refurbished card I get, or just getting a lower tier HC & RMAing the Kingpin then reselling whatever I get back - I don't really want to sell the card as is, even with listing it has pump noise, because I don't want to deal with a potential return from an unhappy buyer that doesn't understand when I say pump noise, I mean significant pump noise, not slight, I am not one that's picky about noise, but this thing is pretty obnoxious lol.

Even if i were to get a new card when i rma it seems like it's only a matter of time until the new one does the same thing. So it seems as if the only 2 options are 1. Hope that they release a hc block for this card or revised aio or 2. Sell it and not support shady business practices. Pretty disappointing since this is supposed to be the best card on the market.

Call EVGA and ask for a new one. They did that for me when my 3090 failed at 45 days.

I got my RMA KPE back yesterday and it was a refurb (looked in new condition though, no retail box). However it seems to have spectacular thermals, or maybe my pump was crap all along (I repasted with kryonaut so I know it wasn't a paste issue). 41c in port royal and exceeded a score of 15,000! I wonder if evga changed anything with the pumps or not...

When EVGA Ships back RMA's, I have been told that they sometimes take a NIB unit, run tests on it to ensure its 100% stable and working, and then mail that one out in unbranded box. This is what happened with my 3090, it came in an unbranded box like it was used. I was ensured that it was NIB and it was unsealed for testing purposes.

To stop yourself from getting a refurb simply do a cross ship rma and just swap the coolers. πŸ‘

Cross ship RMA is only for USA, right?

If your invoice proof of purchase has someone elses name on it they will only do standard rma. That’s what happened to me, I bought it from someone else BNIB who bought it through evga.com.
