I have used ShadowPlay for some time now and have no complaints, but after seeing people mention OBS and the latest driver referencing OBS noise removal, I decided to try it out. Not impressed with the outcome. Are there perhaps some settings that improve the encoding? I find the videos appear like playing a game at lower refresh rates, whereas the ShadowPlay recordings are very smooth. As far as I can tell I set everything I could to highest quality.

Is ShadowPlay easier to set up than OBS?  I use OBS to record occasionally and I find it just a little cumbersome.

Yes. For me it worked right out of the gate and I only made changes to recording directory. I bumped up the bitrate later. All pretty straight forward.

Only been using OBS so far. Would be cool if there were more options with similar or better quality. Def gonna give ShadowPlay a try

I don't know but Shadowplay crashed my COD game, so I disabled it now.

Shadowplay is the only capture software I use, despite GeForce Experience disabling it at random after an update. Lost a few good clips that way..

Never tried ShadowPlay, but I'm surprised you disliked OBS, I find it reliable and simple/functional.

I was pretty against OBS when I first configured, but I dig it now that it's all setup and been used a few times. Shadowplay seems to get the job done if you just want recording though!

Shadowplay is definitely the most convenient recording software u can get. U can also setup up ur own keybinds to fully control it so I highly recommend it.

Well, yes, OBS is a great tool for both monitor recording and streaming. And I also suffered for a long time, went through codecs, bit rate settings and other functionality, until I got the desired quality ... So everything is in your hands.

OBS shouldn't even be close in convenience.

OBS 100% for me, to sort the issue try some in-between rates they have an effect on the buck and boost capacitors and can change the jaggedness. Hope that helps.

OBS is great, but takes some time to learn. It's very customisable and does not hog resources. For noise removal, you can add filters to the mic input. I use the 'Noise suppression' (RNNoise), 'Compressor' and 'Limiter' mic filters. You need to tweak the individual settings to get best results.

I would use OBS for proper streaming and what not and ShadowPlay just for making clips between friends and what not.

For recording, I would use ShadowPlay. why? because file size is not too big and it is much faster (I think)
But in streaming, I would use OBS.
