Hello. I'm in a bit of a bind. I currently am running an Asus X570 Plus WiFi mobo with a 5800x cpu and a EVGA XC3 Ultra RTX 3080 GPU. I flashed my GPU using the precision X software to gain Resizable Bar Support And my pc froze. After trying to reset my pc I have no signal. And I can't even get into my Bios on my mobo. I tried resetting my mobo by jumping the CMOS with no luck. I updated the bios on my mobo about a month ago in anticipation for the RE BAR update and now I have nothing. I powered down my pc and unplugged it for a bit, touched the power button to try and reset it. Removed my ram and powered my pc on and off then reinstalled with no luck. Unplugged my GPU and powered on and then reinstalled with no luck. Is there any way to reset the bios on my gpu manually? Any suggestions?

If your PC reset in the middle of flashing your video card's BIOS, you probably bricked the video card. You may be able to save it by using a second video card to boot into windows and then reflash the 3080's BIOS. If you don't have a second video card you can maybe take it to a friend's PC to flash your 3080 or try a blind flash on your current rig.

I would play around with the RAM configuration. I would try to boot with just DIMM A2 installed. You can also pull the battery out of the motherboard for a few hours and reinstall it.

I swapped my gpu with an old GPU I had laying around and I have a signal now. I'm going to try and update my Bios to a newer virsion to see if that helps. Im currently running virsion 3001 on X570. Still no signal on my 3080.

It didn't crash during the update. It updated then my display acted a little funny. So I tried updating my nvidia driver and it froze while downloading the driver online not while installing. Sorry I should have been more specific

Well I think I narrowed it down to my GPU. Question now is how do I flash my gpu when it won't post? I can boot with my old backup card but now what?

Aren't you supposed to boot with the working old card in the main 16x slot and the card to be fixed in the second 16x slot?  Then you access the 3080 with nvflash to flash it, assuming the card is recognized in device manager (or not)?

^^^ Agreed...thats about the only way that may work....if he can boot with his old Card in the top PCI-E Slot and the 3080 is installed in the next Slot...AND his PC still "sees" the Card in Device Manager, he maybe ok with an nvflash

In order to fix the problem you will need to be able to POST with the bricked GPU plugged in. There are a couple of ways to do this. The easiest way would be to use integrated graphics, or maybe even an old PCI (not PCI-e) backup card. That way you can just set your primary adapter in your bios to IGD/PCI, which will let you POST with your bricked PCI-E graphics card inserted as the power-on self-test never gets a chance to fail. It's also possible to do this with two PCI-E cards I think but you'll have to Google how.

Once you get to that point you're halfway home. Then you will just need a bootable USB (you can do it from Windows but I prefer not to), nvflash, and a copy of the BIOS file you want to flash to your card. There are plenty of guides out there for nvflash, I don't want to give the commands myself and be responsible if you do something silly like flash the bios to your backup card by mistake
