Hi everyone
My graphics card keeps revving under no thermal pressure at all. It is usually at specific points in games, having recreated them several times.
I did fix this issue a few months ago through using ddu and installing new drivers, however this method is no longer working. Iv seen many posts about how people have fixed this issue through using custom fan curves, however this has been no use to me either.

If there is any new info on how to fix this issue I would love some help on it, as its a very frustrating issue to resolve. Also I would like to mention this problem reoccurred when I had just finished installing new fans for my PC and setting custom fan curves in the bios for them, if that is any help to anyone :)

ANY help is greatly appreciated ! Thank you

Have you considered replacing the thermal paste?  The GPU core has many temperature sensors.  The temperature reported to you is just the average temperature.  But, one corner of the die could have poor (or no) thermal contact due to missing thermal paste, and that can cause the fan to rev up and down without you being able to detect that there is a hot spot causing the fan to rev up and down.  It has happened to people before.

I have not, was hoping I wouldn't have to do anything such as this as I'm still Fairley new to PC building and not confident in myself.

If the card is getting too hot the fan is going to go faster to keep the card cool. Sounds normal imo. Stressful parts of the game will make the gpu run hotter.

The cards temp is around 70c, and boots straight into 100 percent rev, is that normal? I understand the fans RPM must go faster as it gets hotter but surely it shouldn't go straight to 100 percent for around 5 seconds?

Could be normal if the vbios is set to run the fans at 100% at that temp.

It is not, should only ever hit that mark around 90c, I have precision x custom fan curves.

Could be normal if there is a hot spot that you are unable to detect.

If you are unwilling to replace the thermal paste or otherwise take the card apart to inspect the fan connections, getting the card replaced via warranty is an option (if the warranty is not yet expired).

Yea I have messaged them as my warranty is still valid and yes absolutely what your saying maybe correct. I hope im not coming across as dismissive lol I just dont want to damage anything if I was to do that.

Fans will rev in "emergency mode" if any part of the chip (NOT just the average typically shown) hits a particular threshold.

If under warranty, consider an RMA. If not, consider re-pasting the GPU.

I’d also check the various fan control options in the bios. Sometimes it’s set to automatically adjust the fan speed significantly higher based on whichever setting you have it set to.
