Hi all, so I continually am having this issue lately.  During gaming (I am watercooled as well) I will randomly black screen and I will have to manually reset my computer.  I hear sounds for a very brief moment but I don't stick around very long to see what I can hear.  It seemingly happens daily a few times a day.

I have checked Windows log and it just says an unexpected shutdown occurred.  While I am not 100% on how to read it I never see the issue, only when my system reboots does it show an event.

I am not overclocking, it happens frequently during Apex, but also during Rocket League.  I have the latest drivers, 465.89, and a rather fresh computer.  I am just so confused as to what is going on.  I have googled this issue with no real results or fixes, but I am hoping there is something I can try to see what else to do.  I use Safe mode DDU, my system runs very cool (GPU hits 55 max temp when its warm in the room).

You using vesa certified dp cables? Does disabling g-sync help? Does running a single monitor on hdmi with the other two unplugged help?

I have cables from monoprice I think.  https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=37921
I have not tried disabling GSync because I think I would miss the feature.  That being said I have always kind of thought that GSync may be a problem with the driver releases they have had.
I have also not tried HDMI because that isnt really an option for me since I use all 3 monitors.

    Re: 3080 XC3 Black Screen Crashing 2021/07/14 07:55:38 (permalink)
My english is not perfect ! I have an EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 with a Samsung Q90T TV. From the beginning I have a loss of signal which occurs when I start a game or when I turn on the TV after a certain delay. Looks like there is a handshaking problem between the card and the TV. I Also recently experiment black screen in games, I also lose sound after a while and have to turn off and restart the computer. For my part, these problems are only present if the Input Signal Plus is activated on the Samsung, this function allows me to activate HDR and get the resolution of 120fps in 4k (this problem seems to happen anytime, without any reason, sometime it's more stable than other) So I am a bit like everyone else, I try to find a solution and I do some tests. Yesterday I found something interesting: First of all I downgraded my driver to version 466.27 (I don't know if that might have helped). I changed the output color format in the Nvidia driver, it was at "RGB" and I put "YCbCr 4:4:4". I read that the native RGB format does not have a very compressed signal and knowing that I especially have problems when there is a lot of information to transmit (ex .: 4K 120fps), the 4:4:4 sends data in a different way with less bandwidth and stronger compression (up to 50% less which takes us away from the physical limitations of HDMI and cabling), the screen or the TV must be compatible otherwise this item will not be displayed. The TV will then convert it back to RGB by itself for display (4:2:2 or 4:2:0 have lower resolution and are less interesting options). Yes it can slightly change the quality of the image, the blacks are stronger, we can compensate by adjustments, but it is a mode which is advantageous for the players. Once the options are done I turned off the PC. Then I turned on my TV first, then the PC to ensure proper signal detection. Following these steps, I am able to play without any problem. The next morning (after a delay where I do not touch the computer anymore), I lost the video signal and no wake up when touching the keyboard or the mouse, this bug is also weird but using the Windows key + CTRL + SHIFT + B, Windows resets the video driver, this forces the handshaking of the HDMI and allows a return of the image. I continue to do tests, maybe this information can be useful to you.  Good Luck !
