Nobody saw this one coming—or going. AMD last night released the Radeon RX 6800 XT Midnight Black, a limited edition variant of the RX 6800 XT reference "Made by AMD" graphics card, sold-out directly through the company website. This card appears to be an aesthetic update, as it replaces all the matte silver bits on the cooler shroud with black. That's it...that's the product. The clock speeds are the same—2015 MHz game clocks—and so are is the core configuration, with 72 RDNA2 compute units. The card briefly appeared on the AMD store, allegedly, and disappeared before the first legitimate graphics card buyer could lift a finger.
 
Once again AMD didn't do anything about scalpers in my personal opinion. AMD should have raffled the cards.

    I was told it would be at 9 AM this morning-
    I was there, but AMD was a NO SHOW ! 
     
    A shame this entire generation of cards has ben such a Crud-FEST !!!  ...from both sides.

    AMD also refuse to do anything about miners buying everything. Once AMD became successful again, they became just like any other company, scum.

    Miners don't buy these AMD cards; their mining performance is about 35% worse than a similarly-priced NVIDIA card.
     
    If you are going to rant about something, make sure that it makes sense.

    I got the "red team" email, but never followed up on it. Not shopping for computer unicorns. Been into astrophotography lately. That is another hobby that has sales issues right now. Put in three orders in January and only just now got them shipped in April.
