Hi everyone. Hoping someone here can offer some advice. I have a few EVGA RTX 30xx cards running, yesterday I got an RTX 3060Ti FTW3 Ultra that I added to the same system as my RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra. All I wanted to do was put off the RGB on the 3060Ti and that is where my issues started. Upon opening Precision X1 v1.1.7.0 I was told that I needed to update firmware (it did not mention which card), I said yes and it proceeded to update the 3060Ti firmware (I had done the 3080 firmware when I first installed it a while back), once it completed I said close and then it opened again, but again it asked to update firmware. This then proceeded to update the 3080 firmware which I thought there was just a new version of. It then proceeded to (as best as I can understand it) update the 3080 with the 3060Ti firmware for the fans/leds, the reason I think this is what happened is because only the front section of the 3080 LED actually now works which is similar to the 3060Ti RGB LED and also one of the red power LED's is permanently on for the 3080, since it has one more LED than the 3060Ti it makes sense that it is just on since it cannot address this with that firmware. Anyways, I have tried to resolve this by DDU Nvidia drivers, reinstalling Precision software, removing all other cards and just putting the 3080 in, but every single time I open Precision X1 with the 3080 attached to the system I get a message "System restart is needed to install the correct firmware update. Please reboot to install." and I cannot ever get Precision to do anything other than give me that message. I have removed the 3080 and just run the 3060Ti and then Precision works fine, but something has gone wrong with the update on the 3080. Strange thing is the card works 100% fine but the LED's are all messed up and I cannot do anything about it. Have attached pics to show what it does, please help me.

There is an issue with the bar update with the 3080 FTW3/FTW3 Ultra cards apparently. Best to switch to the secondary bios on the card via a switch and do not update it until evga has it sorted. When they do switch back to your bar bios via the switch and flash that, leave the OC bios or whatever one is not flashed by bar alone in case something like this happens again. Use MSI Afterburner for the time being and do not start up precision X.

This has nothing to do with VBIOS. MCU firmwares are probably messed up. EVGA must release a MCU update tool considering it's always messed up in some way so we can roll back...

Roll back? Why not just install the original BIOS ? The BIOS and FW are loose terms, in the case of GPU appear to be the same!

I understand the confusion but MCU firmware and VBIOS are not the same thing. At least not anymore these days. When you first install Precision X1, it says firmware must be updated and if you cancel, you cannot use X1. That firmware is for the micro controller unit (MCU), the controller chip that controls rgb, temps, icx and interfaces with X1 software. VBIOS is the firmware for the GPU. It can easily be flashed with nvflash tool without X1 software. But you cannot flash MCU fw yourself... By my experience, mcu fw updates are always messed up.

^^^^ I see...thanks for dialing me in...personally I havent touched Precision in many years, I found it pretty buggy vs msi ab.

I agree with what AlperN is saying, the current issue I have is with the Firmware running on the MCU and not the actual VBIOS, I have not touched the BIOS at all. Is there another way to update the MCU firmware because Precision ain't working due to what ever went wrong.

Thank you for this, will give it a try. Do you perhaps know what the naming is of the firmware for the RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra? I see that I can get the latest file within the Precision X1 folder but not sure which one to use for my card.

Disregard and flag as spam. It has responded to a ton of posts with the same response "Possible purchase of a Miner GPU from eBay" Probably trying to get his posts up for Elite Membership. Go to its profile, view recent posts, and flag all the ""Possible purchase of a Miner GPU from eBay" as spam. Hope your issue gets sorted.

Install Precision X1, go to Firmware folder under installation path, delete everything, launch X1. Last time I did that it prompted a message "FWNAME" cannot be found. Then restore deleted files and use the tool to flash.

This does not work. I have a 3080 ftw3 ultra that i put a hybrid kit on. Now i took the kit back off. Been working on this all night. Whenever i try to flash any bios at all it tells my "no display adpters were found that are compatible with this update". Which i matched my model number up exactly. Still doesnt work. 2 of my fans dont come on and only half my leds light up. How do I get this thing back to stock? Stock air cooler. stock bios. stock firmware. i just want this thing normal again... nightmare
