Hi EVGA community,

I have another 2080 Ti here that just quit. EVGA is denying my RMA even though it has the warranty sticker, the serial number sticker, and the tamper proof sticker all intact. But it is missing the ABS sticker on the front PCIE. I removed it because it was edging onto the PCIE interface whenever I slotted in the card. I assumed EVGA only needed the warranty sticker and serial number intact, or at least has some sort of database that links the stickers back the serial/warranty number of the card. Here I am out another $1000, this is great start to 2021.

Am I really going to use the stimulus check for another graphics card
This is actually depressing

Ask the credit card company to pull the transaction to show the purchase of the card where/when you bought it.  Usually the store, business keep a ledger of the items they buy and sell for tax purposes.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Dang, I understand why your not happy about the events.  "Another 2080Ti quit"

It is clearly stated in the EVGA terms though -  https://www.evga.com/warranty/graphics-cards/

    (excerpt)
"Products with modification to the serial number and/or factory identification labels whether removed, relocated, falsified, defaced, damaged, altered or made illegible."

I can only hope this saves someone else from the pain your feeling ....

Nein!  The store where he bought the 2080ti should have the information to assist the customer. I understand the terms though

Pretty petty warranty terms.  The serial number sticker should suffice for EVGA to obtain all the information they need.  They are getting more and more petty.  I mean, the terms remain relatively unchanged, but EVGA's enforcement and interpretation becomes more and more unforgiving.  It doesn't serve the customer's interest.  Turning your back on your customers is a move which doesn't often turn out well.

I would still argue and cite Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Your product had a factory defect limiting the ability to use it.  You repaired the defect by removing the sticker.  It was not and could not have been the cause of the videocard failure.  And does not affect identification.

I agree that it is total BS.  I think EVGA removes stickers and re-applies different stickers/serials to returns=>refurbished products anyways.

This doesn't seem right.   Either there is more to the story  or that is a pretty lame excuse to deny an RMA ....

It really doesn't seem right, that's all to the story. A stupid sticker is making me lose a $1000 video card

Good point here, I would give you a BR if I could.

Contact your local attorney general.  If they refuse to make it right, stop buying their products and tell everyone your experience. Really seek legal advise. Microsoft trying pulling that crap with me. A phone call to the attorney general and some patience  solved the problem for me.
Worse case contact the FTC. Plus if you bought with a credit card or debit card you may have warranty through them. My bank gives me two year coverage on any item paid in full with card. People would be amazed what is in the fine print. Please keep in mind just because that is evga policy does not make it legal. You would be amazed at how many companies try to enforce policies that are against state or federal law. The Squeaky wheel is the one that gets oil

I have more than one EVGA card where this sticker is crooked and gets jammed into the slot. Never considered removing it for this very reason. Did you happen to take a photo of the issue?

I hope that this gets resolved for nathen2832 but we all need to remember that EVGA does NOT manufacturer their own cards.
The PCBs are made in China, some in Taiwan & then all the parts are sent to USA & assembled in USA so a collaborate endeavour by all parties. We just all need to voice our concerns to the support section & DEMAND that EVGA ensures that no stickers are placed ANYWHERE but on the PCB side. No stickers are to be placed anywhere near the power connectors, PCIe connector, monitor output ports. Placing stickers on the PCIe is a deliberate attempt by EVGA to automatically void the warranty. Only idiots & poor QA management does this.
