You're joking right?
It's Intel. Of course there won't be LGA 1700 on an existing chipset. They have to release a new chipset for every CPU type because MONIEZ.
Both AMD & Intel users are pretty much at a darned if we do darned if we don't point right now, if you can even get a chip, AM4 is a dead socket, the next Mainstream Desktop CPU line AMD releases will be on a new socket. If you want to go Intel, you're basically buying an re-re-re-re-re-re-re-reoptimized 7700K 14nm++++++++++++++++++++++++ LGA 1155-turned-1151-turned-1200 socket dead end no upgrade path 11th Gen CPU that will probably actually get stomped by the LGA 1700 stuff when it comes out.
The next mainstream release from each CPU maker is going to be very interesting to see who comes out on top, that's for sure... right now, you're basically choosing either a crapoli option in Intel's latest rehash, or a pretty great end to what has been a solid socket on the AMD side.
