The FTW3 boards are just poorly designed. It has nothing to do with the quality of your PSU and even if PSUs were at fault it is still bad engineering on EVGAs part. What's stopping a user from running there system with a 450w no name PSU ? EVGA hardware engineers need to account for this and if there boards can be damaged by a weak PSU, well that means its a garbage design simple as that ! Putting that aside my FTW3 3090 ran perfect for two months with a Corsair AX1000, when it died I went back to Canada Computers for in store warranty, the clerk told me "yep we already have had 3 come back these EVGAs all have the same problem with the red light on the third PCIE". I didn't ask the clerk out of how many, but that was definitely raising flags. They gave me an Aorus Xtreme to replace it and I've been using it for 2 months now no problems.

Evidence please? Oh, wait, you don't have any, just your surmise that this is true?

Look! I banged my head against the wall once and it bled...so I tried it against 2 other walls and got the same result! THESE WALLS ARE BAD!

Hmm...couldn't possibly be anything but the wall, right?

Well, EVGA has redesigned the power delivery (controller chip) on these cards so here on out I think these issues will fade into the sunset. I have one of the early versions of the fixed cards. No more power balance issues. Pcie slot draw is never over 60watts. The old card would pull well over the 75w max that the slot is designed for.

Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL
Mobo: Asrock X570 Taichi
CPU: Ryzen 5900x
GPU: EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra
RAM: Crucial Ballistix OC to 3800 16 18 18 1:1
PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 1600w
Cooling: Custom hardline loop: optimus blocks, primochill stuff, lian li stuff, HW Labs 60mm radiators, custom stuff

Card is still alive? I got rid of my ftw3 in place of a strix but I'm pretty close to the queue on the ftw3 hybrid. Might pick that up if I get it before kingpin.
