I installed the newest available chipset for x99.
Package: intel_chipset_win_10.1.18228.8176-public-mup.zip
Version: 10.1.4.4

However in device manager it still says I have
Version: 10.1.2.85

So I tried installing from 1 package older intel_chipset_win_10.1.17903.8106_PV.zip, and says I have a newer version,
So it has the 10.1.4.4 installed, but still listed as 10.1.2.85

My guess is the INF files are not correctly displaying.
Is this a correct guess, and How do I fix it..

Thanks..

I was able to install using powershell command .\SetupChipset.exe -overall from package "intel_chipset_win_10.1.17903.8106_PV"  and the INF says "10.1.3.1" although the release notes say it to be "10.1.4.4" Just trying to make sure I have the chipset correct, cause this is getting confusing, I even still have a windows update of the entire chipset but I know it goes by date, so no telling what that is. Guess I will grab a blank drive and start experimenting. I'm not ready to build a new pc yet, although this is minor, I'm just OCD about drivers.

I looked into the folders of the newer packages and they do NOT contain the INF files
    these are from "intel_chipset_win_10.1.17903.8106_PV"
