10/2020

EDIT: I do apologize for the long wait. There are several factors that are in play for Step-Up, not including that the normal step-up time after the launch of any new product can be between 3-6 months depending on demand. That is compounded with COVID restrictions, higher than ever before demand for the products and limited supply of components that are used to manufacture the products. All of this means wait times will be much longer than normal and unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to make it go any faster than it is.

I do apologize for any inconvenience.

Regards,
EVGA

I understand where EVGA is at and I see no reason to have anger or angst towards them. It'd be nice to know your slot or place in a queue though. You are #201 in the queue. Or something that doesn't give away their total (if that's what the company may be concerned about) either way it's more of a curiosity factor than anything. They are providing a courtesy service that I appreciate. As someone working in Manufacturing and Semiconductors sure there's a silicon shortage, however, we're managing and it's being hyperbolized a bit. Like many things during the pandemic some are being under-represented, others over-represented. I'll say this much - while companies need to lay to claim many a thing during this time; there is a point - and a limit to how long any and all of us can point to COVID, 2020, and the economy and the source of our problems before that reasoning no longer outlasts the fatigued response to come. It simply is what it is, I may not like it personally but it will happen - the average person is of limited understanding and has a point to which they simply will no longer hear anything anymore.

It may be as simple as too difficult/time consuming for customer support/the server to give every person an update on their status on the queue. Without knowing how the tool was written we cant say for certain, but it could be a limitation in the way that system works. Working with older code is not fun to update when it touches everything.

The key is, the system is works as intended. We as customers may not have the visibility we would like it to have, but it is working.

There seems to be a big push against quotas here. Just making an objective comment. Not sure why, someone makes a comment, asks a question about queues, or submits feedback be it neutral, detracting, or promoting I am noticing this and beginning to wonder why... as I said, merely as an observer... I don't need video cards to breathe like I need air. Or petrol or food. People can cop-out to those fallback conversations all day long (I've noticed that too... ) but I do notice when a company is hoping people would just "stop asking" man... guess that answers that then. Must be one long... long inconceivable line that "works as intended" and "we can't say for certain, but it could be a limitation in the way that system works. Working with older code is not fun to update when it touches everything". - gosh I hope that wasn't EVGA's unofficial response.

Sorry if you felt that I was trying to mislead you or anyone else, if you think that I work for or represent EVGA in any official or unofficial capacity you are mistaken. I am just a guy who has been fighting with antiquated code for the past few months due to poor managerial decisions. I was merely trying to provide some insight into why something could be the way it is, not stating that this was the reason.

If NVIDIA can’t get Samsung and TSM to manufacture them more GPUs to meet demand, along with Sony/Microsoft/AMD and every other company beholden to them.

Does anyone really think a 3080ti will magically exist in large enough quantities you can suddenly get that, but have been unable to get a 3080 for a year?

Getting into this in November.. I knew it would take till at least May the earliest... I'm honestly saying I will be very surprised if I see my 3080 before August. That said, it gives me time to come up with the like $560 I'll need to go from my 2060 Super SC Ultra to the 3080 Anyways.. so It's quite fine. I am using 2 1080 Ti's that are past its expiration date by a year or so already... so Hey... Only nice thing is I added the 7Yr warranty to the 2060.. So when I DO get my FTW3 3080, It'll have a 10yr warranty.

This is why I gave up waiting, paid double for a 3080, and sold my 2070 super. Assuming the transaction of selling it goes smoothly, I've made back what I paid extra. The market is crazy right now and people really are paying more for 20 series cards.

I felt like it was worth the risks, at least for me. So far I'm feeling good, the guy paid, and has a a year of all positive feedback on ebay as a buyer.

I've been waiting on the list as well, but not as long as most of you.  I was lucky to get a 3070 FTW3 ultra from my local shop at a little above the MSRP.  The amount I paid was fair, but it wasn't the card I really wanted.  I wanted the 3080, but the wait list for that one was months and because I had all the other parts I figured I would make do with the 3070 for the time being.  I was just wondering what do you think I would get for my 3070 FTW3 Ultra when my opportunity comes up to get the card I wanted?  I was hoping to get it through the step up program to reduce my costs, but at this point I'm thinking that my queue position will come up well before my step up does.
Thanks for your time in advance and I hope everyone's wait on the list is as short as can be.

Is the step up program actually still open for sign up at this point? At least from the wording I see on the webpage, one would have had to purchase their initial item before December 5, 2020 to get into the step up program. I am building a new computer with one of the goals being 4k gaming, and I am still short a motherboard and a graphics card, though I do theoretically have a 3090 being shipped to me sometime in the near future at exorbitant prices; no scalpers involved, but heavy price gouging by the actual company that made it.

Yes, it's still open--the date you're seeing changes to reflect the 90 day limit from the order date to put that card into the program.

I'm sure that you will be swamped in offers from this post assuming that "Your local shop" is an authorized reseller so the 2nd owner can get the transferable warranty.  If not, all the 30XX cards are being sold everywhere on the web by scalpers for 2x MSRP or thereabouts, and you'll be doing someone a huge favor if you don't gouge them like that!

Very 1st post in this thread is a link with spreadsheet ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTPuUO8HUBfyByDoctOFm1rXdHc9_1UWWohtOJ9f19K7eDGxuIdJAN9driKY_M5DEXF-o2nDHIX18fZ/pubhtml ), that and reading the posts here is best indicator I'm aware of.  It's looking like it'll be quite a while for we who were late to the party.  Especially since restarting the Fab in Austin, TX isn't going well so far...  Everyone hang in there!

OMG!  I just looked at the spreadsheet--looks like next drop we'll have FINALLY made it to day 2!!  We all want 's, and I'd like to remind all of us here during this frustrating waiting period that EVGA is the ONLY company who offers this UNBELIEVABLY GREAT option to we, the Customer.  EVGA is doing for us what it looks like they can subject to their CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS to other parties in the midst of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC and GLOBAL SHORTAGE of Chips, RAM, AND Substrate/Packaging as well as GLOBAL shipping slowdown.  EVGA even agreed to essentially eat the China Tariff for everyone already in the queue thru end of Q1!  I really don't know what else EVGA could reasonably do and still stay in business to help we who are still waiting, and if I did I'd submit a suggestion to them as I hope anyone else will.  I, nor anyone I know work for EVGA or in any way have any interest in the company, I'm just saying how about a little credit where credit is due for a business that's trying harder than all the rest of their competitors?   Everyone hang in there!

They might have drops, but they are small, and if you aren't renting a bot, you can forget about actually getting one.

I've been thinking about selling it as I saw a friend recently sell his Sapphire 5600XT for 735 on ebay earlier this month.  He was using it until he recently got a 3070.  Mines is in really good condition as I've only had it for little over a month now and while I do OC it, it has never seen temps over 150f.  I have a high air flow case with 10 fans and so it is not abused at all.  I am waiting for my place in the Kingpin queue to come up so I can upgrade to that and then I was going to sell this one to help me with reducing the overall costs of the Kingpin.  My shop is a an authorized retailer so my warranty and the original cost that I paid for the card was accepted by EVGA so that is a plus.  I was thinking of paying the 30 bucks for the 5 year warranty to help out whoever gets my card when it comes time to sell.  Thanks for the input and I do wish all those waiting on the step up that their wait times will be as short as possible.
