Looking up the QVL list and I came up with these 3 candidates:

Vendor   |   Part Number                  | DIMM Size (Gb) | Total Size (Gb) | Frequency | Timing
G.SKILL  |  F4-3600C16Q2-64GTZR  | 8                      | 32                   | 3600        | 16-16-16-36
G.SKILL  |  F4-3600C16Q2-64GTZR  | 8                      | 16                   | 3600        | 16-16-16-36
G.SKILL  |  F4-3600C16Q2-64GTZR  | 8                      | 16                   | 3600        | 16-16-16-36

Since I am looking for the best, most compatible 3600 CL16 memory, most probably a 32gb (4 x 8gb) or 64gb (4 x 16gb), I've only been able to find these 3 on the list but... THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PART NUMBER even though the total sizes differ.. I am obviously missing something here! Someone please guide me!

Does this mean the 64gb 8x8gb quad channel is the only compatible 3600 CL16 memory for this board?

It only means that it was the only part numbers tested with the board. Evga can't test every dimm G.Skill makes as later kits and Dimms come out after the board is released. QVL lists for memory are meant as a guideline. Chances are other kits from G.Skill will work.

I just don't get why EVGA would put a 8x8gb ram on a QVL list for a mobo... that only has 4 ram slots...

I've yet to have any reasonably specced RAM not work in any EVGA board (reasonably specced meaning most CPU's IMC will handle the speed). I've not bothered with looking at a QVL to get an exact P/N match since my X79 Dark.

AMD seems to have a much bigger problem with this.

See: What is G.SKILL memory's naming convention/nomenclature? and other helpful information in the G.SKILL FAQs..There's also the G.SKILL RAM Configurator which will show RAM that G.SKILL has tested for your motherboard.

Any part number with Q2 such as F4-3600C16Q2-64GTZR is an eight-module kit..You want a kit with just Q in the part number for a quad-module kit, or D for a dual-module kit.

You might wanna roll with the F4-3600C17Q-64GTZR kit which has been tested compatible.

I dunno why EVGA even listed an eight-module kit for your mobo that has 4 DIMM slots..Mistake, I guess.
