wait, so if i signed up for the queue on 09/21 for the 3080 FTW3, am i in "risk" of the price hike or....am i good?

Provided you get your "invite to purchase" email from EVGA on or before April 16, you should be good to go. If it comes after April 16, it doesn't matter when you joined the queue.

Wow so not only do I have to wait almost 1 year (3881 09-18-20 6:56pm) but since I was forced to wait I now have to pay more ahahahhahahah. We're talking about fkn launch day here.....

If the item hasn't been in stock during that year, and the price of production increases, then you have to pay more. You're not entitled to anything because you haven't gotten what you wanted. Especially because you clicked a "notify me" when in stock button.

PS- Thanks for the daily updates. I'll certainly be using your Associates Code. A minor suggestion, you should include a link to that Google Sheets page you use for these trackers. It'd make them super easy for guys like me who come here and go for your updates immediately Thanks!

You are very welcome.  Best of luck with your search and thanks for the consideration of using my Associate’s Code for your 3% discount at check-out; it is appreciated!

I include a link to the Google Doc Summary I post each weekday morning and evening in my signature block, but if you are viewing the thread on a mobile device, the signature block likely does not appear for you.  Here is the link: North American Notify Queue Summary

I’m worried I used a different email than the one I’m registered with. What can I do to change it? Both the cards I clicked show up under my notification status. Thanks

Sounds like you've already checked your auto-notifies page to make sure EVGA has the record of it (for North America, https://www.evga.com/community/myNotifies.asp; for Europe, https://eu.evga.com/community/myNotifies.asp). If you see the auto-notifies on the applicable page, the registrations are tied to your EVGA account. You should be able to change the account's email and the registrations should be maintained with that account. If you are concerned about taking that step, you can always call EVGA customer support to verify (I am not an EVGA employee, just a gamer): 1.888.881.EVGA (3842).

I wanted to come on here and say a big thank you to enewt for all the hardwork he has done everyday to keep the tracker updated with the current times for the queues. Cannot wait for my time to come within 2 min for 2 cards.

Thanks for the kind words; they are really appreciated!  I hope your "invite to purchase" emails arrive soon.

Yeah and as enewt had said in a post only 3898's have dropped one time together in the same week as 3897 so I am holding my breath on breaking that this week.

Just to clarify, I think I was responding to a question of "when was the last time they dropped together".  I think they may have also dropped together in the same week back when the Hybrid's first launched, but I did not go back that far as the question was asking "when was the last time."

Please use my Associate Code at your checkouts for up to 10% discounts on all your EVGA purchases: VDN2319M4O569J4

Good luck on the drops today everyone!

Just some informations that some might find useful (if there are any drops today) :

  • Associates Code gets you a discount (3% off GPUs, up to 10% off other products on eVGA.com, several people have Associates Code links in their signatures)
  • When registering your card (after you receive it), use an eVGA Rewards Code when registering, it gives the person who's code you use 2 free eVGA Bucks; consider looking through the thread for someone that has one listed & has not gotten their GPU yet - it's not much, but it's something
  • Hybrid card tube length is 400mm and should be mounted as exhaust whenever possible to avoid feeding your system lava air as intake
  • if you purchase a card elsewhere, don't remove your notifies until you receive it, just to be on the safe side
  • PSU recommendations are 750-850W Minimum for a 3080, 850-1000W for a 3090 if you want to be on the "safe" side
  • Lastly, Kingpin fan cords are only 6" long, and the stock fans are garbage, you should plan on replacing them

With 3070 cards, I'm going with 850 psu .... I currently have 650 psu, but I think 3070 are like the 3080 ... but you can tell me if that's overkill or a wise decision (upgrading to 850 from 650).

I have a ryzen 9 3900xt with 2 1tb ssd and 2 1tb hdd (but will be adding a 4tb or 6tb hdd).  also have a 1070 (waiting for 3070 in queue system).

I have a 750 psu, and waiting for the 3070, but I think it was 650 min for 3070

A wattage Meter is around $25. I ran my 3080 FTW3 Ultra and 3700X on my Evga 650W P2 Platinum with a 6 to 8 pin adpater for 4 months and pulled 550w from the wall gaming so a system load around 490w. Since getting into mining I went to Super Flower Leadex 850W Platinum and waiting on the the 5800X to arrive. But yes you maybe able to run a 3080 on 650w it just depends.

5800X 4.75ghz 1.25v, 3090 Kingpin, 32GB Trident Z Bdie 3800Mhz, Superflower 1000w Platinum, Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1 TB,  970 Evo Plus 2TB
3600/3080 FTW3, 32GB Balistix 3600, Superflower 850W Platinum, MP600 500GB

I am in a bit of mourning today. I spent many an hour meandering through the aisles of Fry’s with my Dad…I LOVED those trips…often we would leave with a new game, sometimes a new mouse or other computer peripheral, sometimes we would depart with just some good laughs at what we found among those wide, dimly-lit isles. But those trips were almost always good and valuable time together.  (Each store had a different theme -- I was always partial to the Tiki-vibe in El Segundo, but the crashed spaceship was also pretty cool; for those fortunate enough to visit one during Fry's golden years, which was your favorite?

My Dad passed away a few years ago and with Fry’s shuttering their doors last night (let’s be honest, they should have been shuttered years ago), it is just one more thing that slides (perhaps less than gracefully) into the dustbin of history. Fry’s will always have a special place in my memories of gaming, of geekdom and of my youth. I almost wish you didn't live long enough to see the 2020-2021 Tech Launch Debacle™ (© NVIDIA Corp. 2020-2023). Fair winds and following seas, dear Fry’s.

Scalpers are the scum of the earth yes, but the people that keep buying from them are the real problem. People with too much money and not enough brain and common sense as usual (I notice more and more with the years that they usually come hand in hand).

That is completely insane.  I'm not going to lie, I really want the 3080.  However, that price point has priced most people out of the market.  I assume they are going after the deep pocketed folks who are mining ethereum.  They seem to care about rate of return, which at that point would be about 6-7 months.  if it holds

And hopefully it does crash soon and for good. I'm beyond sick of scalpers and miners taking most of the market, they need to disappear. Both kind.

Thanks for the thoughtful words. He taught me all about computers and, in his final years, I was his IT support. Life is a circle.

I really hope March is the month for the HC cards...I am holding on by a fingernail at this point. Thanks again.

What is really scary is that the quantity of people over pricing them is dwindling. Either miners are just making that much mining or people are getting way to impatient. Both is a frightening prospect for future pricing.

3090's not enough card for that price. I turned my notify down a few months ago for it. Didn't want it as they finally were announcing the regular 3080 hybrids.

I don't want crypto to crash. I don't want anyone's investments to not pan out. To wish harm on others is just plain wrong. I want you to get a graphics card, and I want me to get one too! They are not (and should not) be mutually exclusive.

What I want, and what we all need, is just for the collective market as a whole to stop being willing to pay the scalped prices.

Gamers and miners alike are willing to pay stupid prices right now for GPUs. STOP IT. Only be willing to pay a reasonable price, and scalpers will be forced to sit on inventory until they decide to be reasonable.

Unfortunately, the few out there (and I believe it is a very small minority) are willing and have the money they don't care about losing. They are the ones ruining it for everyone. I honestly believe this. I have camped overnight in front of microcenters multiple times, as I am temporarily close to one for training. This has been my only chance to really get a GPU. I've been getting to know gamers and miners, and I personally don't have an issue with any of them.

We discovered one guy lining up with all his kids who lucked out and got vouchers. He was later selling those cards at the marked up prices.

Of course I have a problem with that, but it's a SYMPTOM. The root problem is the willingness of some to pay WAY more than what something is worth. Whenever that happens it breaks the market, breaks capitalism (which is more fragile than we would like to believe) and ruins shopping for the 99% that simply can't afford such nonsensical prices.

@enewt - I will also carry a sad place in my heart as I mourn the loss of Fry's. There has never been anything like it during my life time, and I fear there will never again be anything like it. Such neat stores where you can literally go in and buy specific diodes and resistores for your circuit boards and then buy a mini fridge and a laptop. I never lived close to one, but whenever I traveled for the military or for personal reasons, I always tried to visit!

They will be dearly missed.

I don't think there's such a thing as overkill on a PSU purchase, unless you're doing something really stupid like buying a 1600-2000W PSU for a build that will never in it's life pull 1000W ever for any reason lol
I would get the 850W, gives you a path for OCing and upgrading, and during "normal" gaming draw, you'll likely be at about 500W which is perfect for the 850W's power curve if it's a decently rated PSU (most of which operate most efficiently at 90+% usage & in the 40-60% usage range).

I’m running a FTW 3070 with a 750 Corsair RM and it’s been plenty. 10600k, MSI Gaming Edge, EVGA AIO, 1 M.2 1TB and 1 2TB SSD.

My son has a 3080 XC3 hybrid on a Corsair 850 RMx and no issues with that one. 5800x, MSI Carbon WiFi, Arctic 360 AIO. 2 M.2 1TB drives and 1 2TB SSD.

Bottom line is I think 850 is more than you need for a 3070 but the extra power couldn’t hurt if you want room for future upgrades.

Yes indeed.

I just ask PLEASE let the 3975 and 3985 move on the queue these weeks, I need 1 of them for work and not for gaming and won't buy from scalpers!

Happy wednesday to everyone!

Ok I'm curious here: what kind of work do you do to absolutely need a 30xx card?

I Work in Archviz with Unreal Engine 4 doing GPU Lightmass Baking and 24 GB let me work bigger and faster bakes levels without loosing time doing sub levels (What I have to do right now with my RTX 2070 super 8gb), I got to bake the light of every separate sub level and them add them all to the Main level (Which I also have to bake lights separetly from sub levels).

Basically RTX 3090 will save me hours of work by letting me bake just 1 single big level.

Part of the issue is draw does not go up linearly with overclocking, and a lot of people will OC their hardware sooner or later, especially when it comes to higher core count CPUs, they can go bonkers quickly... I.E. the 9900K is supposed to be a 95W TDP unit... mine pulls 162W at stock full load & around 200W at 5GHz all core boost, which is a pretty minor overclock considering it's single core boost stock is 5GHz.
GPUs similarly can go pretty wild pretty quickly with power draw & overclocking, but Ampere is pretty power limited from the get go so OCing is very limited on anything but the Kingpin cards.

I personally wouldn't run a 3080 on a 650W PSU, but if you're just planning to plug the system in, enable XMP & run it, a 650W that's a quality unit would "be enough" unless you're running something in the 10+ core range then it depends on the parts.

3090's being priced at $4,500 on Amazon...

What is really scary is that the quantity of people over pricing them is dwindling. Either miners are just making that much mining or people are getting way to impatient. Both is a frightening prospect for future pricing.

Nah mate, supply has gotten even worse, not better - there's fewer cards to scalp.

Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme. That was not the original intent, but that's what ended up happening.

The 3080 did not exist when I bought the 650W. 3700X, the Bdie 32gb of Ram the GPU etc are all OCd. On 7nm and ditching AMDs voltage spikes for boots Id say it may even use less power in some scenarios. Yes high Ghz on 14nm is different. But a lot of people have Ryzen 3600s so a 3080 is possibly doable with a 650w. Thats why I measured it. I now have a 850w as stated for more head room, but the 650w never let me down. Everyone said no one will ever need more then 650w cards are will use less power on a smaller node then they cranked up the power consumption with this gen.

5800X 4.75ghz 1.25v, 3090 Kingpin, 32GB Trident Z Bdie 3800Mhz, Superflower 1000w Platinum, Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1 TB,  970 Evo Plus 2TB
3600/3080 FTW3, 32GB Balistix 3600, Superflower 850W Platinum, MP600 500GB

I asked Jacob just now on twitter. He said "Maybe" next week so there might not be any next week either.

4 days ago, he responded to another person that implied they had no more hybrids atm and they were currently in production with no ETA for availability.

If any one already asked EVGA add one more field: "Your position in line" on My Notifies page?
It may be really useful to understand what is going on...

Use associate code to save 3% on your EVGA GPU purchase! And up to 10% on other products!
