Long story short, I wish I'd done more research before purchasing this headset.  The YouTube reviews are either paid for (AKA BS) or they didn't use the headset long enough to actually experience any of the issues I, and apparently hundreds of others, are having.

After 2 days of use got the battery down to red, I charged it back up fully - then I started getting disconnects.  Like 3 in the span of 2 hours kind of disconnects.  I also got static in game that did not go away til the game was reloaded, and this happened more than once...  I looked up how to reboot the headset to see if that helped.  It did not.  I also found on their forum there's a thread about these very issues with this headset, dating back almost 2 years, dozens of posts of people having the same issues - disconnects, static in game etc.

In short, do not buy this headset - it has issues that have been going on since 2019 & Corsair still has not fixed them.  Unless you plan on always using it in wired mode (in which case you should just buy a wired headset that's cheaper, cuz there are better audio quality headsets out there that are cheaper, I.E. the Logitech Pro X which is what I'm switching back to).

I'll be giving a nice glowing 1 star review on Amazon right after I finish getting it boxed up for the return for "defective or doesn't work".

Welp. Was considering it solely for the RGB to go with everything RGB and iCue, moving from my Steelseries Arctis. Guess I won't now. Thanks Badger ! This being said, I think I would have gone for the double removable battery wireless headset with a base that charges the other battery while headset is on. This is dope.

The only wireless headset I've had that didn't give me issues (for a whileat least) was my Logitech G935 Artemis - and after about 6 months, the battery started giving me issues.  It started randomly disconnect/reconnecting like the battery was dying, battery life went down the toilet, etc - then I heard how much better audio quality can be than that headset's quality even on wired-connection, and I went with a wired headset - first a Sennheiser GSP 350, which funnily enough, had a faulty USB dongle that I ended up RMAing it with Sennheiser because of, the audio quality on that headset was amazing, especially for $89 - then I got the Logitech G Pro X.  Again, awesome audio quality, and I've had zero issues with it.  That's what I'll be using for a while now I guess.

I just have horrible luck with headsets seems like.  I'm very tempted to just buy a pure-headphone set that's high end wireless stuff, but I'm squeamish about spending over $300 on a pair of headphones.

I also have $99 Razer Earbuds that I use when I want to move around, that operate on the PC's bluetooth connection, so the range isn't great, but it allows me to do cleaning etc while listening to music or a video from my PC, or switch to my phone, with no real issues - but their battery life is a laughable 3-4 hours.

Just adding my two cents about wireless. I have been using the Steelseries Siberia 840 (https://www.newegg.ca/black-silver-steelseries-siberia-840/p/N82E16826249210?Item=N82E16826249210) here for over 3 yrs, and I have nothing but positive stuff to say about it. It comes with two user-removable batteries and a base that allows you to charge battery #2 while #1 is in the headset. Of course they are LiPo batteries so after 3 years they only last 7-8 hours and not the 12+ hours they used to last, but that's very standard. 7-8 hours is still good. Also, I have a 1000 sq ft apartment shaped like a square with my computer in a corner and the headset works everywhere with only slight disconnects in the furthest opposite corner from the PC. If it breaks, definitely buying a similar product again. Love it.

I have been using the Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE for a month now. The only issue I had was that I was going to try and tap into the battery to make my Trackir wireless but could not get the ear cushion off. Not a big issue since I later found out the voltage would have been too low anyway. Other than that the sound has been good and friends noticed improved voice quality. Modified my TrackIR and now my headset and TrackIR are wireless and loving it.

They exist, you just need to find the right one.  My Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones have served me very well for over 2 years.  I couldn't be more happy to ditch the cord.

I have used wireless and had good luck with it. If it wasn’t for wanting to use the audio from my NU Audio card I still would be wireless and Corsair is a brand that I trust so I am kind of surprised to hear of the issue.

Well.. no sooner than I defend these I started getting audio cutouts. Started yesterday and continues to happen randomly throughout gaming. Luckily I had returned the first set due to the earcups not coming off, which videos shows them coming off and being able to replace them easily. So these are still within return period. Initiated return and ordered the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless Gaming Headset.

Sent my Virtuoso back and my Arctis Pro showed up today. I thought the Virtuoso sounded pretty good till I got these. So far no issues but I did not have issues with the virtuoso immediately either.

Wow, is this really official Corsair support? Am I the only one surprised their reach goes all the way to other PC hardware manufacturer forums? I have to say though my RMA experience with Corsair was quite good in the past.

Yeah, the issues I had, in combination with how uncomfortable the ear cups were, I'm happy I returned it.  I don't have "big ears" but the inside of the ear-cup (the wall/cloth between your hear & the speaker) was right up against parts of my ear, very uncomfortable compared to most headsets I've used.  I just had no interest in keeping it with all the issues it was giving me connectivity & sound wise.
Real shame cuz I was trying to get all my peripherals on a single control software (iCUE), but alas, it wasn't meant to be I suppose.  For now I'm back to using my Logitech G Pro X, with no software installed - it sounds better and has zero issues, for $120.  Only down side is it's wired, but I currently have it's USB dongle plugged in to my monitor, which works perfectly & avoids any possible "cord not being long enough" issues that might happen if it were plugged in to the back of my case.

Thanks for that, but I already returned the headset to Amazon for a refund.

Unfortunately I already returned the headset, spending $189 and having something not work properly was just not acceptable for me so I took the return for refund option.
I love the Corsair M65 Mouse & Corsair K100 Keyboard I got along with the headset & am keeping those, but the headset having issues that so many others have reported on y'all's own forums and apparently hasn't been resolved, was just too many red flags on the headset to try the RMA/exchange route.

    Slightly off topic, but:
For anyone hunting a mouse that doesn't have a bunch of unnecessary fancy "crap" but is a solid, well put together, sturdy mouse (AKA one you can rage with & not break), the M65 is a great one & it's only about $50.  I've had one before, and I think it will be my mouse of choice from now one because of the price & build quality - having a solid metal frame on a mouse in this price bracket is awesome.

I did notice that as well and also did not like they cups were a perfect circle. So far the Arctis Pro Wireless are doing great. Yeah I paid more but feel like I got what I was after. The cups are elongated so my entire ear fits in the void and it still does not touch the grill. This also seals better than the Virtuoso, cutting out more ambient sound.  I really like the wireless base as opposed to the usb stick transmitter. Allows me to control certain sound aspects. The best part is the removeable battery. It comes with 2 and the other sits on charge in the base station. Very quick swap. Batteries that are not user replaceable always bothered me. Having been into RC for a very long time, I know they start to degrade in performance and eventually stop working.

If the virtuoso did not have the sound cutout issue I likely would have kept them. Had I not read your post and saw that it is a common issue, I might have kept them thinking the problem was something else.

That's the headset you're referring to right? I'll have to look in to it some more, that's a lotta dough but if it's top-notch in terms of sound etc, it's something that would last me for years so it's worth the investment.

Does it have independent software, or is it all controlled through the base?

WOW !!!  They went up since I order mine on the 5th. I paid $329, which is still high, but not that high. I would not have ordered them at that price.
They have some software, I think similar to the ICUE ? I did not install it. It appears to be more RGB oriented.  Everything can be controlled from the base. I also like that I have my phone connected by BT to the headset and can take calls. The base has EQ settings, surround, volume of both wireless and BT, etc. I think it can all be done from there.  I noticed that they got kind of sneaky with the battery life. It says 20 hours but its 10 hour per battery. Not a big deal since a fresh battery is right there in reach.

That's a 3rd party seller, I'd wait for it to come back in stock directly from Amazon - should be around the price you paid.

10 hours x2 is plenty for me since most of my days are in the 16-36 hour range, and in the 36-hour day range, I'd be taking breaks from the headset lol
