Just so you know, any modding of a game can let people in on your PC... Most of you have no idea haha. Its why the Nexus has such strict rules for mods, as their moderators go over a mods code, and why some mods cannot be uploaded onto their service due to what the mod does, all it would take is someone hacking that mod authors account, uploading a modified version of that mod with the capabilities to gain access to someone's pc, and in minutes it could spread from thousands, to tens of thousands, to even hundreds of thousands though their mod management/update software that works with the nexus site. Has nothing to do with the developer, welcome to the world of modding games.
