I've started getting a repeating/regular rattling/creaking/refrigerator kind of sound coming from the graphics card. I've run with the kit since December and haven't had issues before. The sound goes away when the card heats up and is in full load, but is very easy to hear when idle. It also goes a away for a while as the card cools down and comes back later, even after the fans have ramped down. It's not coming from the radiator, the radiator fans or the blower fan (because I've lowered it to 0 rpm and the sound is still there). I think it might be a pump issue, but it's weird that it goes away as the card heats up or is in full load. The radiator is top mounted above the card. Temperature stills seem normal to what the card was doing before (tops at around 60-62c with 100% full load, and around 30-35c idle (with 108% power limit). Any idea of what could be the issue, or any suggestion on how to fix it?

The pump has bearings too, could be the problem.

I had the exact same thing. I installed the hybrid kit on 16 December, and it ran perfectly for about a month. I came home from work on 14 January, and the pump was making a cyclical buzzing noise (almost like a cicada bug) at idle (video here: 1drv.ms/v/s!AmPA7yidD6Z-9XD1yNCE0_Cmj8qM add https:// to the front--too few posts). It was quiet at first and was easily swamped out by the case fans when under load. But, it eventually got worse (much worse) to the point where I could hear it over the fans under load and the audio from whatever game I happened to be playing. I ended up RMA'ing the hybrid kit. The new one I received is quiet so far.

Damn, hopefully they will approve the rma. Did they cross ship it for you? None of my original thermal pads were salvageable so I hope they would ship the replacement first. I've already started the support request, hopefully they approve the rma. I hope this is not a design, recurring issue, 1 month and half is too soon for a pump to start failing like this.

They did cross ship. Like you, the thermal pads/putty on the stock ICX cooler were destroyed when I installed the hybrid kit, and I had no replacement pads on-hand. I was worried the pump would fail resulting in runaway thermals that would fry my graphics card, so after the RMA was approved I uninstalled the 3080 and the hybrid kit and put a GTX1650 (trusty backup card) in the system. The noise dropped by ~15 dB according to the iOS app I downloaded (a 32-fold reduction in noise). In trying to fix the issue without an RMA, I did stumble upon a few threads that said using a low power magnet can fix the noise. I used two-sided adhesive and a small magnet and placed it over the shroud. It took some trial and error (and many more layers of two-sided adhesive), but I did eventually find a place on the shroud where I could put the magnet where the noise would stop but the pump would still run. This "solution" only fixed the pump issue at idle, though. Once under load, the thermals were ~5 - 10C higher than without the magnet (50 - 55C, for reference). Based on the fact that the magnet works in lowering the noise, it seems to me that something in the pump got jarred loose somehow (maybe a bearing, like a previous poster mentioned). The magnet seems to pull it back in place, but it's not a real solution.

Man, the noise is driving me crazy, I'm about to throw my 3080 out of the window. EVGA is also dragging their feet, I'm getting like one reply per day and then they ask for me to try something else that I already said I did.

pixelcowboy Here is a video of the issue.
This here sounds just like air trapped by the impeller and its pushing hard to get thru. You can tell by the slow rhythm that accompanies the noise, imo. You made sure the pump is lower than the top of the rad, right? Preferably, but not gospel, hoses at the bottom of rad? You may have to do some case tipping and restarts to get that air to go to the high spot, ideally in the corner of the rad up top.

Yours sounds like a new build and the pump is working its ass off pushing, but your getting pretty good flow. With the hoses at that high point the air may be trapped right up there at the end causing a little blockage. If you flip the rad, put them at bottom, then gravity helps push the fluid when it falls plus the air can trap itself in the little tank on the rad, both ends of the rad have that cavity there. This is just my opinion, i am by far no guru but always happy to help.

Yes, it looks to me that you have the gpu radiator in the front of the case, correct? If so, you need to flip that thing so the hoses are at the bottom. Make sure you turn your PC off too, do not do while its running. The air bubbles that are by the hoses now are going to breakup a little and all will float to the top of the rad again once you flip it. Before you put it back in the case tilt the rad side to side a bit, like maybe 45 degrees each way..... enough to gently move the fluid around, dont slosh it and make more bubbles. As you do that tap it gently all over, this will help any clingers to let go, when you feel like it should be good then you can either screw back in the case with the hoses at the bottom OR you can set it up standing up securely outside the case, keep at the same height it would be in in the case, and see if it sounds any better. It may take a minute for itself to settle everything down inside and straighten itself out. Being your rig is so new it should be ok and last a long time still.

Ok, thats better at least cause it can spread the air across the whole rad then. Did you try tapping on the pump while its running and then shutdown pc and tap on the pump again? Maybe tap the rad some too, gently, and see if it breaks anything up.

Yeah, i know where the pump is, thats np. The only other thing you can do is pull it out of the case and work the rad and pump from there and hope you can dislodge the air to the top of the rad. If not then ya rma, unless you want to take it to a shop and have a experienced tech take a look. You sure its not your cpu aio? That mount looks more problematic to me from the video then the gpu. @pixel: yeah if its not making any change then it might need a rma.

It was elevated. It was just a bad pump. RMA fixed the issue.
