PE1 shares lanes with PE2, card in PE2 will make your video card run in x8.

    PE3 shares lanes with PE4.

(Almost) all details on lane sharing layouts are in manual.

Yes. I have PCIe M.2 card running in bifurcated PE4 and nothing in PE2 and when I checked it showed my PE1 video card running as x16.

According to the manual PciE 4 is x16x8 not x4 so Sound Card will not be detected if install in there or am I missing something?

It does not matter that the slot is 16x or 8 x you can still install a 4x card in that slot.  It will work as normal.

Also keep in mind that if you are not using PM2 PE6 will give you 8 CPU lanes.

From what I see AE-9 is x1 sound card. If that is correct then yes, BIOS will show slot it is inserted in utilizing just one lane.
