My second rig is an EVGA X299 FTW K with an i7 7820X running at 4.6 GHZ all core.  The CLC 280 keeps the CPU pretty tame.  I set it up to ramp up and down with CPU temps and with load, I see mid 70s pretty consistently.  Easy to install.  I have never had any issues with the software (Flow control).  All in all...pretty satisfied!  The only reason I don't have one on my new system is that Flow Control has about a 10C offset with AMD...and Corsair is very accurate. 

The kit that comes with the CLC 280 should work on LGA 1200.  Just use the parts that come with it for 1151

Flow Control pump software forces the fans to run at 1050 RPM minimum! They should be able to run at 650 RPM, and in fact they do run at this speed, before you install the Flow Control software.. There is no way to get them below 1050 RPM after installing EVGA's own software to control the thing!

So a better option may to run them off the board and set the speed in the bios?

This is how I have mine set up.  I used the usb from the pump to set the pump speeds at astound 90% as well as to occasionally change the led color, and have the fans running to my fan hub.  Running a 9700k at 5.0 all core and temps struggle to break 50 in a house currently set to 65 degrees F.  The temps will go up to high 60s if I use the CPU for folding, which I don't.  My usually work day and gaming sees a max of around 51 with the occasional spike to 55.
 
I tried out the LED Sync just recently, and it was meh at best.  Worked fine for about a day or so.  Now I just have both my GPU and the pump set to a static color that matches each other, and my led strip runs the rainbow pattern.  Removed LED Sync from the machine.

Out of curiosity, do you know what your liquid coolant temp peaks at? & How fast do you have the fans going when at full load? 

I don't open the flow control software all that often, so relying on memory here from benchmarks some time ago, but I do not recall the coolant ever breaking 40 degrees, at most maybe 41/42, mostly the coolant hangs out around 35/36 degrees when I am doing my usual stuff.
 
I have the fans set up so that they hit 75% at 60 or 65 degrees and I think I have them pegged to hit 100% at 75 or 80 (haven't been in BIOS in a while either lol).  Set up is aio in the roof, my gpu aio is in the front at the top, with two pwm fans also connected to the fan hub so as the cpu aio increases they do as well.  There are also two airflow fans in the basement at a steady 1000 rpm, so lots of fresh air coming in and increasing to match the aio ramp up, and a 120 airflow in the back to help with exhaust.  Case is a meshify s2 so not much for noise cancellation.

Purchased to replace 4 year old Corsair H100i very disappointed. Flow control serves no real purpose other then lighting control.(HW info) will read all sensors for CLC. Fans are very loud. Radiator fans are pigttailed from cooler which is single 4 pin fan connector for all power.If radiator fans are connected to cooler it will ramp fan speeds up at 60c. I removed mine after a few weeks sold on craigslist. The only reason to buy this cooler is if you want the Evga logo with RGB as your cpu block. To be fair this product gave me the motivation to build a custom loop. So in the end that was a great thing and the guy I sold the CLC 280 for $70 was happy.

CLC 280 cools well enough (or did) on my 9900k @ 5.2 1.38v passed CB15, CB20, CB23 and RB 2.56 but those fans at max whoa...
 
Might as well get ready to use the MB fan controls. It just works better or something like liquidctrl for CLI fun. It's too the point I've contemplated just clipping the fan lead for aesthetics it's just that useless for low rpm fan controls.
 
LEDSync is an odd duck. I wish EVGA had one program that they updated to address all their RGB enabled devices. It is annoying having to run different applications to set lighting for their mouse, GPU and CLC.
LEDSync needs a major overhaul to be universally compatible with their devices. It did detect my DG-77 case though and it was able to set my case, CLC and even a corsair RGB fan and set the lighting accordingly.
It couldn't detect my Z390 FTW, Torq Mouse or EVGA 3090.

Am on an old corsair H80i on my current system. Got tired of custom loops a long time ago, Just want something I can plug in and go. Sadly Corsair was not an option from the prebuilt system builder I am getting this PC from. Many of their rebranded in house closed loops I have beta tested and not a fan of the pumps they use. As long as this thing can keep my i9 at 5.2ghz with Turbo on cool and wont fail me I will be happy. Getting a RTX series quickly without a hassle this is the best option out there atm. Saw this cooler and was like well lets give it a tray.

A couple of benefits of the latest Corsair AIO are the 7th gen pumps and most use mag lev fans, which are much quieter
