I just got the notify for a 3070 XC3 Ultra Gaming 08G-P5-3755-KR. I had decided that I really want a 3080 FTW3 Ultra, but I entered that queue a few months after the one for the 3070, so I don't like my chances of getting a notify for that anytime soon (I'm dying here still running dual 780s... ). I don't see the 3070 XC3 on the step-up list; the only 3070 I see there is the 3070 FTW3 Ultra. Can I step up from the 08G-P5-3755-KR to the 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10G-P5-3897-KR (or any lower tier 3080)? I only have about an hour to decide before I miss the notify window... Thanks for any help; I'm sure this kind of question gets asked a lot.

If I were you I would buy the 3070 and enjoy it.  When you get the 3080 eventually by normal purchasing it, then just sell the 3070.

Oh, I did get it, and I am absolutely enjoying it! Even on my old X58, DDR3, PCIe 2.0 system, it's a huge performance leap over my dual 780 Classified Hydro Coppers; it's bottle-necked from its full potential for sure, but still a big jump and worth it for me. I can actually play Warzone, Flight Simulator 2020, and Battlefront II now, among others. I'm waiting on the step-up list for a 3080 FTW3 Ultra, but I have heavily considered just buying a 3080 if I come across one and selling my 3070.
