Yo my dudes 8 years later and I still lurk but rarely post.  It's refreshing to see the same profile pics on very familiar members.  Anyways here's my new build!  As I'm not so much into gaming anymore (play some titles but just not super excited  about it anymore) I built my rig with video editing for some killer mountain bike edits and Exercise Physiology classes.  
 
Specs (built 3 days ago):
 
MSi Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi (Wifi NICs have come a long way I see)
 
i5 10400 (great deal on it locally place holder for i7 when 11th gen drops and get one on sale)
 
16GB LPX DDR4 (will add another 16GB when market cools down)
 
RX580 (still a strong and cheap option until the market dies down)
 
1x 2.5" 870 EVO 250GB
 
1x 250GB 970 Plus M.2 as my boot and system utilities
 
1x 2TB Seagate Barracuda
 
eVGA 650 G5 PSU
 
For $100 on the i5 10400 I'm not at all disappointed.  It renders fine for my productivity for now, and the ram doesn't hold me back much.  I'm still small and my career and schooling does not depend on it.  But even this is a noticeable difference from my X79 Dark 3930K I rocked until 2015.

    It seems the forum has slowed down a lot though. The marketplace used to be booming with deals. Used to buy stuff from that dude that would buy great chips, bench them, then sell them.

    Nice price on the CPU. With 6 cores and a turbo boost of 4.3 you will get some good performance.
