I purchased an EVGA 2080 XC in 2018. After approximately a year of use it developed a very significant and persistent coil whine, that was bad in any GPU application like games, irrespective of the fps. It sounded like a rattling sound.
Since then that card was RMAed and within a year the RMA replacement has developed an identical issue, despite barely any use. Moreover, the sound is worse than ever, it sounds like a helicopter taking off. I don't want to have to return this card, it runs cool and overclocks well but i'm soliciting help to see if I can resolve this issue.
It is not the PSU, i have tested it with other cards including a 2080ti and a 3090 as well as an r 9 290. It is not the fans, I have disabled them.
I can't upload an audio recording because it says mp3 files are not supported.
Thanks.
Edit: I've just noticed that i can hear the coil whine whilst loading videos on youtube or using social media apps like twitter. Of course it is loudest in GPU intensive games. The coil whine emerged about a week ago.
