So i got this issue with the psu where the fan doesn't spin at all in eco mode, i only noticed the other day due to the psu itself starting to crackle possibly from overheating cos the fan isn't on to cool it!
 
I understand the unit in eco mode should be silent zero fan spin until it reaches 45c but it doesn't spin no matter what i do.  I could be playing an intensive game like cyberpunk and it will not spin. 
 
Is this a common issue or something i could do to fix it?  The unit was bought secondhand and i wasn't aware the warranty had just run out as well so im kinda stuck with it.  
 
Rig specs:
i9 9900k
RTX 3090
8 x 120mm fans
watercooling D5 pumps x 2
a few SSD's, M.2's and 1 mechanical drive.
 
The system pulls around 650-700w at the wall when gaming so it should definitely be enough to spin the fan up in eco mode but unfortunately im at a loss as nothing happens until i turn off eco mode then it spins...loud!
 
 
I've submitted a ticket and waiting for a reply but with it being just out of warranty i think they might not be able to help... neither do i want to open up the psu incase they do help...

Well , I'd either leave the fan on all the time  or just make sure my case had great airflow to keep it cool enough,.. because opening up the inside of a PSU after it's been in use is Extremely dangerous >>!!
 
I highly advise against it , unless you are an expert at wiring & capacitor discharge procedures. Units will hold power inside for quite some time after being unplugged ..
 Maybe consider taking it to a computer repair shop & let them replace the fan/ diagnose it .?

Unfortunately its a dual chamber case Lian li O11D so the psu sits in its own chamber away from everything else.  I don't mind leaving the fan on but its incredibly loud to the point where if i could i would want to switch it out for another more quiet and efficient fan.  Is it a standard 3 or 4 pin header fan?  PWM or not?

Should be a for the fan and a standard case fan of approximately the same airflow would work if you cut off/splice the fan's +/- wires to the mini connector..It's DC voltage controlled..I don't think the issue is the fan itself.

Any idea why the fan might not be working in eco mode?  I can't figure it out nor can i open up the psu as advised above incase of damage.  I need a solution, anything to test or look out for that might be stopping it from working as intended?

Well no way to fix it then without an RMA and since warranty has run out, im at a loss... sigh
