I just purchased a Supernova 1600 G+ I have it installed in a O11 Dynamic XL and it is very loud compared to the rest of my system
which includes 6 120mm and 2 140mm fans running at a fixed 55%.
The noise seems to be just rushing air but it seems like the fan is running at 100% all the time unless eco mode is enabled than it just cycles on and off which is more annoying.

Other System Specs

O11 Dynamic XL
Asus prime z490-A
32 GB Dominator Platinum
i9 10850k
EVGA RTX3080 FTW3 Hybrid
Samsung 980 Pro
2 Samsung 850 Evo

In such a case I recommend that you contact EVGA technical support.

If you’re looking for a quiet psu you might want to consider a corsair 1600i if evga support isn’t able to get your issue resolved. The corsair 1600i only outputs 23 dba of noise.

I ended up returning it and going back to my corsair RM850x, anyway the 1600 watt PSU did nothing to help with my 3080s crash to desktop problem.

    if it's for a 3080 , I would choose a good 1000W - 1300 W  , no lower than good name brand Gold rating or higher ( platinum, titanium )

Seasonic has always been top notch... but here is a 2021 list

These 30xx series cards can pull some major Wattage  & stress out the caps , which also causes extra heat - which of course is going to make a units fans spin to keep it cooler.

The 1600 G+ fan was going full speed just on the desktop where as the rm850x has never been audible over the rest of the system even under load.

Just to clarify the 3080FTW Hybrid works fine at stock settings, Probably just silicon lottery but with even a 40 mhz overclock it crashes anytime it boosts over 2000MHZ which I was disappointed by because I had a 3080 XC3 Ultra on air that would hold 2040+ MHZ without problem.

Seems just unlucky with chip quality. And PSU must have been faulty. Have both G1600 and P1600 and both are very good, but prefer the P as it is quiet.
